A medical clinic was conducted at the Viru Kekulu Pre- School, Diyatalawa which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 11 July 2018 with the guidance and the supervision of Mrs Thanuja Dias, the Lady In Charge of Viru Kekulu Pre- School, Diyatalawa. For this medical clinic doctors at the Army Base Hospital, Diyatalawa extended their service to ensure the good health of the kids. The teachers of the Pre-School as well as the parents of the kids also participated in this clinic.

Thousands of earnest devotees hailing from all communities specially Tamil Hindus are undertaking the annual Pada Yatra or foot pilgrimage through Yala National Park to Katharagama during Esala festival that commence in the month of July every year. During this event pilgrims used to reach the destination with a lot of hardships. Therefore, it is essential to provide required assistance to the participants in order to ensure the safety and security during the journey within the respective AOR. On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG, these devotees were welcomed and assisted by the military personnel on 09 July 2018.

A sudden fire occurred in Punchi Sripada (Mini Adam’s peak) in the general area Ella which is popular among tourists due to the scenic beauty of the area. Further, the mentioned area is located within the responsible area of Security Forces Headquarters (Central). Considering the damage which might have occurred in the forest reserve and on the tourist industry of the area, the troops of this headquarters were tasked to control the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG on 08 July 2018.

The mentioned area is located within the responsible area of 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) and the troops controlled the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG.

A series of events were organized by the 11 Division of Security Forces (Central) on the promotion of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu to the rank of Major General on 04 July 2018. Major General Nanayakkara received the salute of the Guard of Honour by the troops of 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI). Following that an all rank tea was arranged at the camp premises. On the same day Major General Nanayakkara along with Senior Officers and Officers at 11 Division participated in a lunch arranged at the 5 SLLI unit premises. Further, all the Officers and Other Ranks extended well wishes to the GOC of 11 Division.

A lecture was conducted on drug prevention and the benefits of a drugs free society by the Civil Coordinating Officer at 111 Brigade Headquarters, Major R K Karunanayake SLNG on 02 July 2018 at Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy. The farm which is maintained at ‘Laksenpaya’, the Army Commander’s Bungalow which is located in 11 Division of Security Forces (Central) has won the first place at the ‘Nagarayata Uyanwathu’ competition. This competition was conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Central Provincial Council.
