  • A SEMINAR FOR O/L STUDENTS

    A seminar was organized by the 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) in conjunction with the Zonal Education Office, Monaragala for students who are intending to take the O/L Examination in 2019. Under the direction of the Brigade Commander of 121 Brigade, Brigadier N C Somaweera RWP RSP USP this important seminar was conducted at Ethimale Maha Vidyalaya, Monaragala on 27 November 2019 with the participation of 200 students. While the resource personnel from Zonal Education Office conducted the seminar the lunch was provided by the Brigade for all the participants.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL CONTRIBUTED AN ECO FRIENDLY PROGRAMME.

    In accordance with a concept of the HE the President, island wide programmes are conducted to beautify the main cities as well as crowded towns. Consequently, a shramadana campaign was organized in Diyatalawa town which has paramount importance for tourism. This shramadana campaign was launched on 28 November 2019 under the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the supervision of the Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central). During the campaign, the priority was accorded to the cleanliness and beautification of the city.

  • ARMED FORCES CELEBRATED THE POPPY CEREMONY

    The Armed Forces Remembrance Day and the Poppy Ceremony organized by the Sri Lankan Ex-Servicemen’s Association was held on 10 November 2019 at George E De Silva Park in Kandy. The Governor of Central Province, Hon. Keerthi Thennekoon and the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division along with Senior Officers and Officers participated in this ceremony.

  • TROOPS PARTICIPATED IN A TIMELY LECTURE

    A lecture was conducted aiming to improve the attitudes of the soldiers in order to uplift the livelihoods of them. This timely lecture was held on 06 November 2019 at the lecture hall of the 11 Division of Security Force Headquarters (Central). Further, the lecture was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Samanthi Bandara of National Cadet Corps representing the Directorate of Psychological Operations.

  • TROOPS CONTRIBUTED FOR THE SUCCESS OF A COMMUNAL EFFORT

    Donating blood is the most charitable affair in one’s life whereas the military personnel always show a tendency towards donating blood. Accordingly, Troops at Security Force Headquarters (Central) also voluntarily donated blood at a campaign which was organized by Medical Officers of Health in Bandarawela. Further, this charity campaign was held on 02 November 2019 at the office premises Medical Officers of Health.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL AND PARENTS WERE LECTURED ON AVOIDING DEPRESSION

    A series of lectures have been conducted on Depression and how it cause to commit suicide by the Psychological Counselors and Doctors at CIIHE on 28, 29, 30 October 2019 at Torch Cinema Hall of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Divisional Secretariat- Diyatalawa, Municipal Council- Bandarawela and Divisional Secretariat- Bandarawela respectively. In accordance with the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the supervision of the Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Force (Central), Lieutenant Colonel W R M P Wijesundara of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL CONTRIBUTE A BLOOD DONATION

    A blood donation campaign was organized by the Sri Lanka Transport Board, Balangoda for the 90th time at the auditorium of Divisional Secretariat of Balangoda on 30 October 2019.

    The rocks fallen from the mountain range beside the Ella – Kumbalwela main road obstructed the road on 27 October 2019 and it disturbed the transportation of the area. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, troops under command to 112 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) have taken a great effort toclear the blocked road.
