Security Forces (Central) AOR is liable for many natural disasters. Consequently, on 31 January 2020 a sudden fire occurred in Sarasavigama area in Gampola. Sooner the incident reported, the troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment, 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Sri Lanka Army Centre for Disaster Response Training were tasked to control the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 11 Division.
Troops consisting of 6 officers and 104 soldiers reached the place immediately to take prompt actions to douse the wild fire completely.
