MILITARY SUPPORT FROM CENTRAL TROOPS TO PROTECT THE NATURE

Ella is a renowned area of tourist attraction as well as sightseeing which is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) in the Uva Region. Unfortunately, the area faces a majority of natural disasters such as wildfire and earth slips. Due to the recent fire occurred naturally, most of the areas got destroyed and lost the magnificence in the green hills.

Aiming to energize the affected area, Uva Wellassa Hela Jana Ekamuthuwa initiated to put up a Bio–Fence on 11 December 2019 for which one officer and fifty military personnel supervised by the Chief Civil Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Lieutenant Colonel W R M P Wijesundara of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps also extended their support under the instructions and guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Central) Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu.

This campaign successfully ended amidst the appreciations of the organizing committee towards the Commander of the Army and military personnel for the support rendered for this eco friendly programme in the hour need.
