Beyond the precise role of a combatant, the upgradation of military career has been a prime requirement in the contemporary context of the society.
In realizing the conceptual design on flourishing and enlightening the military career in knowledge, skills and experience as a professional military officer, a lime light was created on enhancing communication skills, and the maiden deliver of presentation was presented by 3rd(Volunteer) Battalion of the Gemunu Watch(3 (V) GW) under the directions of Major General W A S S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 31 of May 2023 at the Multifunctional Hall.

The certificate awarding ceremony for the training programme of‘Skills Development & Innovations’ - Phase – 03 was successfully culminated strengthening the conceptual design of Green Soldier under the patronage of Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 27 April 2023 at the Multi-Functional Hall.

General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) for his ascension to a two-star general officer heralding the fame and honour of his mother unit on 25 April 2023. He deserves the salutation of his mother unit where he was groomed and nourished, for being the first Major General produced by the 5 (V) SLLI.
