  • SLAVF HANDS IN HAND WITH COMMUNITY WORK

    Coincide with the 76th Army Day Celebration, the SLAVF launched a programme on repairing medical equipment belonged to government hospital Kosgama. The handover ceremony of those equipment was graced by the Commandant- SLAVF, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc and he vested them in the hospital authority on 07 October 2025 during a simple ceremony.

  • ARMY’S COMMITMENT FOR THE PRESERVATION OF OZONE LAYER

    The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force celebrated the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, observed on 16th September every year, which commemorates the signing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987. Countries bound by this international treaty committed to phasing out the use of ozone-depleting substances, a crucial step in protecting the Earth's vital stratospheric ozone layer from the harmful effects of UV radiation.

  • OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY AIMS TO BROADEN HORIZON

    A training day, designed to incorporate physical training, skill-enhancing training events and recreational activities aimed at broadening horizons, was successfully concluded on 11 September 2025 at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF).

  • SLAVF APPRECIATES ROLE OF CIVIL STAFF

    Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) paid official field visits to 2 Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (2 SLAPC) and 10 Sri Lanka National Guard (10 SLNG) which are under command to the Security Forces Headquarters (West), on 4ththSeptember 2025.

The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (SLAVFTS) standing under the patronage of the Volunteer Force is designated as the utmost training provider for the aspiring ranks and files who join the Sri Lanka Army.

  • SPIRIT DE CORPS FOSTERED THROUGH SPORTSMANSHIP SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE INTER BATTALION CRICKET TOURNAMENT - 2025

    Preliminarily, ten teams represented respective Security Forces Headquarters competed under league matches and the tournament commenced on 21 August 2025 at the ground of the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Engineers. Over the course of the tournament, each team displayed a remarkable skill reflecting the discipline and teamwork inherent to the military ethos.

  • SMOOTH MILITARY EMPLOYABILITY THROUGH TRAINING

    The assurance of military employment through continuous training is a key factor that enhances the administrative operations of the Volunteer Force. A two-day training programme for the Commanding Officers and Liaison Officers, conducted under the guidance of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), was successfully concluded on 14 August 2025 at the Headquarters SLAVF.

  • SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE BIDS FAREWELL TO DEPUTY COMMANDANT

    Following a remarkable tenure in the office as the 34 th Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General B M R J Bandara relinquished the duties on 30 July 2025.
