The Financial Aid Scholarship Programme - 2024, which is organized annually by the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) took place on the 3 April 2024 at the Headquarters – SLAVF with the gracious presence of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army together with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit as the chief guest. The ceremony was orchestrated to provide the financial contribution for the beloved sons and daughters of the heroic warriors of SLAVF, who have overcome the educational hurdles in their academic pathways.

Colonel SG Kahawewithana who is an illustrious senior officer and possesses above 33 years of military service, was paid an honorable tribute at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF)on 03 April 2024 upon his retirement with effect from 05 April 2024. The senior officer was serving as a Colonel Coordinating Officer at 61 Infantry Division, Boossa prior to retirement.

Newly constructed Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess,Headquarters,Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (HQ SLAVF) was declared open by Major General MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant,SLAVF together with Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - Deputy Commandant, SLAVF amidst customary formalities accorded on the invitation of Volunteer Force Headquarters Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer 1 LVSS Wijesundaraon 01 April 2024.

The customary celebrations were undertaking with the arrival of the Commandant, SLAVF to the camp premises and he was warmly received by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, Deputy Commandant, SLAVF. He was accorded a Guard Turnout and an elegant Guard of Hon our by the troops of the Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps.

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP- the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid a courtesy visit to the 2 (Volunteer) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI); at Kelanimulla on 26 March 2024.The Deputy Commandant was warmly received by the Commanding Officer along with the Colonel Coordinating Officer (Volunteer) of 14 Infantry Division and the Liaison Officer of Regimental Headquarters - SLLI on his arrival. The troops awarded an elegant guard turnout in honour of the arrival of the Senior Officer to the camp premises. As the next lined up formalities, the Deputy Commandant planted a sapling and posed for a group photograph.

The Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship which is an annual feature in the sports calendar organized by the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) was ceremonially commenced on 18 March 2024 at the Rendezvous Ground, Headquarters, SLAVF. Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) paid its tribute of appreciation for Brigadier YGPN Jayaratne RSP at the Headquarters of SLAVF on 18 March 2024 upon his retirement WEF 27 March 2024. At the retirement the Senior Officer was holding the Office of Brigadier Coordinator at Security Force Headquarters Mullativue.
