Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, paid a courtesy call on General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff on 29 April 2024 upon his send off to the Sri Lanka Army. The call on the Chief of Defence Staff marked the farewell of a distinguished service of Major General Thusitha Silva spanned over three decades on the Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army behalf.

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the 32 nd successor in the office of the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) relinquished his duties and responsibilities amidst formal military formalities accorded in honour of above 34 years of active service to the establishment at the parade ground of the Headquarters on 24 April 2024.

The 5 th (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (5 (V) SLLI) that serves as a combatant force over the time, was paid a courtesy visit by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 20 April 2024.

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid a courtesy visit to the Regimental Center Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), at Wehera, Kurunegala on 18 April 2024. The Deputy Commandant was warmly received by Brigadier H A Keerthinatha RSP KSP psc, the Centre Commandant along with Colonel NMJ Mangala, one of the Senior Council members of SLNG on his arrival.

A newly constructed Indoor Badminton Stadium at headquarters, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer force (SLAVF) was declared open by Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu - the Commandant together with Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant on 17th April 2024, with the presence of an official gathering who witnessed the occasion amidst gestures of compliments.
