A charitable initiative that benefited the community and all in the call of duty, was launched under the direction of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), on 10 November 2025 at the Headquarters SLAVF. The programme was shouldered and patronized by the Lions International District 306 D6 who are community-oriented volunteers.
The programme consisted of donation programmes for community groups and medical clinics were conducted to provide essential medical care. The donations worth of Rs. 1300000.00 included school accessories for school children, packs of nutrition for pregnant mothers and packs of dry rations for civil employees. Children, who have been receiving prolonged treatments for severe illnesses, were awarded financial endowments which facilitates in continuing their future medical care.

The assurance of military employment through continuous training is a key factor that strengthens the administrative operations of the Volunteer Force. A two-day training programme (Stage Two) for the officers of second-in-command conducted under the guidance of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), was successfully concluded on 04 November 2025 at the Headquarters, SLAVF.

With an intention of providing a professional platform for career advancements, the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) conducted a two-day training programme for Second in Commands of the volunteer battalions under the guidance of Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of SLAVF, on 23 rd and 24 th October 2025 at the SLAVF Headquarters.

Coincide with the 76th Army Day Celebration, the SLAVF launched a programme on repairing medical equipment belonged to government hospital Kosgama. The handover ceremony of those equipment was graced by the Commandant- SLAVF, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc and he vested them in the hospital authority on 07 October 2025 during a simple ceremony.

Countries bound by this international treaty committed to phasing out the use of ozone-depleting substances, a crucial step in protecting the Earth's vital stratospheric ozone layer from the harmful effects of UV radiation.
