Fifteen Quartermasters who recently concluded the Quartermaster Course No. 6 from Army Logistics School were warmly welcomed to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and educated them on the subjects which relevant to their career progression on the concept of Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndc, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, who rendered yeoman service to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the nation more than 35 years of service saluted in a customary ceremony before relinquished his appointment as the 53rdCommandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 28 December 2023 upon his retirement.

The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) serves as the utmost training establishment of the Volunteer Force, and is tasked as the basic training provider for the aspiring ranks and files who join the Sri Lanka Army. Enhancing its utmost requirement, the newly-constructed Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess was declared open by Lieutenant General HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Colonel JAG Jayarathne KSP, the Commandant VFTS on 17 December 2023 at the VFTS.
