A medical camp was collaboratively organized by the 61 Infantry Division, 613 Infantry Brigade headquarters along with 9 Sinha Regiment and 3 (v) The Gemunu Watch to coincide with the 11th anniversary of Security Forces Headquarters (West) in support of the Thihagoda Community. The event received assistance from doctors associated with the Postgraduate Professional Counseling Services Association of the University of Colombo, along with a medical team from Army Hospital, Narahenpita and Laboratory services of Asiri Hospital. This program was conducted under the guidance of Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commander Security Forces (West), the project aimed to improve health and sanitary standards of people in the divisional secretariat area of Thihagoda due to bad weather condition affected to above area in last few months. It was held at the Primary School in Thihagoda on 18th November 2023.

Security Forces Headquarters (West) commemorated its 11th anniversary on 15th November 2023 with a series of events at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) premises in Panagoda. In parallel to the 11th anniversary, a Bodhi puja pinkama was organized on 14 November 2023 at the Bodhirajaramaya Temple Panagoda with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu to invoke blessings for the staff, their families and the fallen war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.

The Commander Security Forces Headquarters (West) Major General WHKS Pieris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu addressed all officers who are presently accommodate at the Officers’ Married Quarters Complex- Kandalanda on 23 October 2023.The purpose of having this address is to aware them regarding renovation and development of the Officers’ Married Quarters - Kandalanda as well as in order to uplift the standard of married quarters in liaison with Directorate of Real Estate and Quartering. Brigadier Admin and Quartering (West) Brigadier AMR Abeysinghe also participated in this event.

Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, assumed office as the 16th Commander of Security Forces Headquarters (West) on 12 October 2023.The newly appointed Commander Security Forces (West) was awarded with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the 6th battalion of the Gajaba Regiment soon after his arrival at the premises, in accordance with military traditions.
