All Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks of the 62 Division warmly welcomed newly appointed General Officer Commanding Brigadier S M S P B Samarakoon RWPRSP as the 07th General Officer Commanding to the 62 Division and assumed duties on 21st May 2020 officially and ceremonially at his Office in 62 Division, Galkulama, Padavi-Sripura.

Brigadier J H J Nishantha usp assumed duties as the new Brigadier Administration and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) in an auspicious time on 21 May 2020. He succeeds Brigadier J B Randeniya due to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army.

The last back lot of 31 persons at Pompemadhu Quarantine Center returned home this morning (17 May) after completing of their quarantine process. This group is from Monaragala and Kandy arrears who underwent a quarantine period of 18 days at Pompemadhu Quarantine Center, Vavuniya. At the time of their departure they were issued with a certificate for undergoing the quarantine at Quarantine Center.

The members of Presidential Task Force (PTF), appointed by the HE to inspect the health and security at Military establishments, visited SFHQ Wanni at AM hrs on 12 May 2020. The members included Admiral (Retd) Jayantha Perera and Director General of the Civil Security Department Rear Admiral (Retd) Ananda Peiris who arrived by Air to SLAF Base - VNA and attend for a short briefing conducted by the Commander SFHQ Wanni Major Genaral AMR Darmasiri ndu psc at the HQ conference hall.
