ASSUMING DUTIES AS NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 65 INFANTRY DIVISION

Brigadier K A Samarasiri RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 13th General Officer Commanding of 65 Infantry Division under Security Force (Wanni), amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Headquarters 65 Infantry Division in Alankulam on 19 July 2021.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 65 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout and presented by the troops of 65 Infantry Division. Later on, Brigadier Anil Samarasiri placed his signature on an official document to mark his assuming of duties, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of Senior Officers. Accordance with the tradition, he planted a sapling followed by troops address and the all ranks tea. Brigadier Anil Samarasiri, was served as the Commandant - ATS Maduruoya prior to this new appointment.

Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the Headquarters 65 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were present on the occasion.
