COMMEMORATION OF THE 12TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9 SLSR AND 6 VIR WAR HERO ’S AT MULATHIV WAR HERO ’S MEORIAL

The 12th Commemoration ceremony of the frequently remembered war hero’s late of 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 6 Vijabahu Infantry Regiment was held on 18th July 2021 at Mulathiv war hero’s memorial. The 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment had erected this monument to commemorate the war heroes who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the Mullaitivu camp on 17 and 18 July 1996.

The Commander Security Forces (Wanni) and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General Hemantha Bandara and Commander Security Forces (Mulathiv) and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Sisira Pilapitiya graced the occasion as the Chief Guests and paid their tribute to the war hero’s by lighting the flame and placing a floral wreath in a solemn moment. The General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division Major General Keerthi Bandara Commander 591 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 9 SLSR and 6 VIR paid their respect by placing floral wreaths.
