In a proactive effort to tackle the persistent challenge of substance abuse among military personnel, the 553 Infantry Brigade have introduced an extensive drug prevention programme on 28 June 2023 at the 55 Infantry Division Gymnasium aimed at safeguarding the well-being of the troops in Northern Peninsula. This groundbreaking initiative not only aims to protect military personnel from the adverse effects of drug abuse but also strives to enhance operational effectiveness by ensuring a drug-free environment within the ranks.

In coinciding with the International Yoga Day, a series of yoga workshops was conducted with the supervision of Consulate General of India, Shri Raakesh Natraj in Jaffna peninsula on 21 June 2023. Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Brigade Commander of 512 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier LGJN Ariyathilake RWP RSP, Jaffna District Secretary A. Sivabalasundaram, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna Professor S. Srisatkunarajah, government officials and over 1000 civilians participated in these workshops.

Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), the premier military establishment in the North, proudly celebrated its 27th Anniversary on 19th June 2023 organizing a series of programmes with the participation of troops in Jaffna.

Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc made his maiden visit to 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 15th June 2023 after assuming his duties as the 30th Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSVUSP ndu psc, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) marked his maiden visit to Headquarters 51 Infantry Division at Kopay on 13th June 2023 after assumption of his duties.

Mr. Severine Chappaz the Head of Delegation and Mr. Aleksandr Burov the Head of Sub Delegation representing the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) met the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc on 14th June 2023 at the Security Forces Headquarters. The visiting delegations were warmly welcomed by the Commander on arrival at the office.

Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc assumed duties as the 30th Commander of Security Forces (Jaffna) on 12th June 2023.

The General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc made his maiden visits to 521 and 523 Infantry Brigades on 9th and 10th June 2023 soon after assuming his duties.

Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc assumed duties as the 29th General Officer Commanding of 52 Infantry Division at the Division Headquarters, Mirusuvil on 08 June 2023.

The General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Major General KPSA Fernando RWP RSP ndu relinquished his duties on 07 June 2023. He will assume his duties in the appointment as the Director General Infantry at Army Headquarters in a couple of days. The outgoing General Officer Commanding made his visit to 521 & 523 Infantry Brigades to address all Officers and Soldiers under command to 52 Infantry Division on 05 June 2023.
