Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Makes His First Visit to Forward Maintenance Area (North) & Logistic Units

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota , made official visit to HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North) and its under command Logistic Units on 03 January 2023.

Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on arrival at HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North) was received by Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier Clifford Zoysa. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) planted a mango sapling to mark his visit to the Forward Maintenance Area (North). Subsequently, he posed for a group photograph with all Commanding Officers of Logistics Units and the Staff of the HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North). Later, he addressed the troops and participated for All Ranks Tea.

Three NVQ Programme for Officers/ Other Ranks Phase Serving in Jaffna

As per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara a programme was initiated accompanying with National Vocational Training Authority and Tertiary and Vocational Education Commissionto provide professional recognition in National and International level for the members of the Sri Lanka Army which will be beneficial whilst being serving in the Army and after the retirement.

English Language Course for Other Ranks in Jaffna Ends Successfully

One - month English Language Course to improve English language skills of Other Ranks serving in the Jaffna Peninsula was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna from 25th October 2022 to 28th November 2022. Thirty One Other Ranks from various Regiments benefitted from this course, which covered different aspects of the language and its application. The 1st in Order of Merit was secured by Corporal Senarathna AAY representing 4th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps while Corporal Jayawardhana JSNK and Lance Coporal Bandara SBPS secured the 2nd and 3rd places of the course respectively representing 1st Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps serving in Army Base Hospital – Palaly and 1st Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps.
