Jaffna Troops Launched Series of 'Shramadana' Campaign at Religious Places

Troops of the 511 and 513 Infantry Brigades under the 51 Infantry Division conducted a series of 'Sharamadana' Campaign to beautify and to keep from dengue mosquitoes at three religious places in the Jaffna peninsula on 11 July 2021.

The series of 'Sharamadana' Campaigns were launched under the instructions of Major General Deepal Pussella, General officers commanding - 51 Infantry Division. During this programmes, pillerar kovil premises at Kattapokkaney, susei church at Kopay premises and Virawa Kovil at Viththakampuram were Cleaned and beautified. Further, this programmes were closely supervised by Brigadier Jude Fernando - Commander 511 Infantry Brigade and Brigadier Mohomed Fariz - Commander 513 Infantry Brigade in their respective Ares.

Jaffna Troops Hand Over Another Shelter for a Needy Family

Troops of the Security Force -Jaffna once again extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to another underprivileged family in Sangarathei, Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Jaffna.

The new house handing over ceremony to Mr. Rasaduri Amudhapriya was held with the gracious presence of the Commander Security Forces -Jaffna during a brief ceremony held on Tuesday, 13 July 2021.

During the house handing over ceremony dry ration packs and essential household items which required for this newly opened house were given to the owner of the house. Moreover, stationery items also provided to the house owner's schooling Childers for their further studies

Jaffna Troops Built One More House for A Needy Family

Troops of the Security Force-Jaffna constructed one more new house for a deserving family at Chulipuram, Jaffna, financial support granted by the National Housing Development Authority.

Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force- Jaffna graced the house-warming ceremony as the chief guest. The chief guest together with the recipient cut the ribbon and entered the house in auspicious time and formally handed over keys to the beneficiary, Mr Kadiran Govindasami on Tuesday, 13 July 2021 amid Hindu religious rites and rituals. During the ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items which required for this newly opened house were provided to the owner of the house.

Cornerstone for one More House Laid in Karainagar

During a brief ceremony organized by 513 Brigade troops on Tuesday, 13 July 2021, the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu laid the cornerstone amidst religious customs to construct a new house for Mr. Thambirasa Maniyalagan and his familya after identifying his family’s plight in Kareinagar, Jaffna.

Troops of 11th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry provided the manpower and technical expertise for the construction work under the supervision of the Commander, 513 Brigade. After the foundation laying ceremony, the Commander Security Forces Jaffna distributed dry ration packs to the owner of the house. Moreover, stationery items also provided to the house owner's schooling children for their further studies.

General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Commanders of 511,512,513 and 515 Infantry Brigades, Senior Officers, Government Officials and troops of the Security Force Jaffna were participated for this ceremony under the strict health guidelines stipulated by the Army Headquarters.

Foreign Employees Proceeding Home After Government Quarantine Process

A number of 114 foreign employees flew from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Dubai, and Lebanon set off to their homes after completing more than two - week quarantine process at Vasavilan Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on Wednesday, 07 July 2021. Having gone through the required quarantine procedures, they were awarded with quarantine certificates by Brigadier Wandhitha Mahinkanda, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North). Soon after the awarding of certificates personnel who underwent the quarantine process appreciated the commitment and dedication of the army troops at Vasavillan Quarantine Centre.

Jaffna Troops Involve with Vaccination Programme Amidst the Strike of Health Workers

Giving a further boost to the ongoing national vaccination project carried out by the Army and sister services across the country, Medical Teams and Troops of 4th Battalion Medical Corps Sri Lanka Army start the vaccination program for the general public of Jaffna District amidst the ongoing strike of health workers in health sector.

Troops of the 51 Division Engage in 'Shramadana' Campaigns

Troops of the 511, 513 and 515 Infantry Brigades under the 51 Infantry Division conducted series of 'Shramadana' Cleaning campaigns to keep the areas to free from dengue mosquitoes at several Churches and Kovil premises in the Jaffna peninsula on 03 July 2021.

This 'Shramadana' campaign was conducted under instructions and guidance of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General Deepal Pussella and during the campaign, areas were cleaned at St. John's Baptist and St. Antheny's Churches premise in Periyavilan, Arulmilu Alurananadan Pulleyar Kovil premises in Kandarodai, Alakollai Pulleyar Kovil premises in Alaveddi and Shivan Kovil premises in Kareinagar. Further, this programme was closely supervised by Brigadier Jude Fernando - Commander 511 Brigade, Brigadier Mohomed Fariz - Commander 513 Brigade and Brigadier Palitha Godellawaththa - Commander 515 Brigade in their respective Ares.
