The foundation stone-laying for construction of another new house for a deserving family living in Uduvil, Jaffna was held on Thursday (19) and Commander Security Forces - Jaffna Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest during a simple ceremony, adhering to health formalities.

The troops of 513 Infantry Brigade under 51 division of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna engaged in supplying drinking water on the request made by general public in Maruthapuram, Kovalam, Kalabhoomi, Palavoadai and Palakadu Grama Niladari divisions of Karainagar Island using their own water bowsers on 16 and 17 August 2021.

General public awareness programme on COVID -19 pandemic situation in Jaffna peninsula and prevention and precautionary measures of COVID -19 was carried out by the troops of 51, 52 and 55 divisions on the instruction of Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator of COVID-19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu on 14 August 2021.

One more underprivileged family in Maradankerny received a new house from the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna after their plight was brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Jaffna.

On the conceptual direction of the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil, 1.5 million rupee worth of financial grants were given to presidentially pardoned 15 x Reintegrated Ex- LTTE combatants at the Jetwin North gate Hotel, Jaffna on 7 August 2021.

Troops of 551 Infantry Brigade carried out a sterilization programme in Point Pedro town on 29 July 2021 when the town was re-opened for general public after a locked down period of 14 days. This disinfection programme was. supervised by Commander 551 Infantry Brigade on instructions of Major General T J Kodituwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and Major General M K Jayawardena RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division.

Giving a further boost to the ongoing Campaign Plan for Vaccination against Covid - 19, 4th Battalion Medical Corps of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) carried out phase 3 Sinopharm Vaccination programme in collaboration with the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, Regional Director Health Services and PHIs for general public of Jaffna peninsula on 29th July 2021.

On instructions of Major General T J Kodituwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), troops of 551 Infantry Brigade prepared and delivered more than 1000 lunch packets to 285 families of Point Pedro GN Division (J/401) on 28 July 2021 who are under locked down due to large number of Covid - 19 positive cases currently. Majority of people in the locked down area are local fishermen who have been prevented from fishing by health authorities due to health concerns, experiences economic hardships at present.

On the direction of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and under the guidance of Major General M K Jayawardena RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, troops of 551 Infantry Brigade carried out a sterilization and COVID - 19 awareness programme in densely populated Nelliady town on Friday, 16 July 2021.

Jaffna city sterilizing and cleaning up programme was conducted by the troops of 14th Battalion of Gajaba Regiment under the guidance of Commander Security Force (Jaffna), Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, on the instructions of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General Deepal Pussella RWP RSP and under the supervision of the commander 512 Infantry Brigade.

The sterilization programme launched according to Ministry of Health guidelines on 16 July 2021. Through this sterilization programme, Jaffna city centre, Clock tour road, Stanly road, Pullear Kovil road were cleaned and disinfected.
