Troops of the Security Force-Jaffna constructed one more new house for a deserving family at Maradankerny, Jaffna with financial support extended by the National Housing Development Authority.
Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander Security Force- Jaffna graced the house-warming ceremony as the chief guest. The chief guest together with the recipient cut the ribbon and entered the house in auspicious time and formally handed over keys to the beneficiary, Mrs Tushikanthan Anjanadhevi on Saturday 10 July 2021 amid Hindu religious rites and rituals.
During the ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items which required for this newly opened house were given to the owner of the house. Moreover, stationery items also provided to the house owner's schooling son for his further studies.
The troops of the 10th Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment contributed their technical expertise and skilled labour for this construction under the close supervision of the Commander 553 Infantry Brigade.
General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, Commander, 553 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Government Officials and troops who contributed to the construction participated in the house warming ceremony under the strict health guidelines stipulated by the Army Headquarters.
