Troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) Celebrates Poson Poya Day

A series of events were organized by the troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) to celebrate Poson Poya Day as per the guidance of overlooking Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General KPSA Fernando RWP RSP ndu on 03rd June 2023. At the Headquarters premises a Dhamma Sermon was conducted and on the same day Roti (Flat Bread), Manioc, Coriander Herbal Tea and Belimal Herbal Tea were distributed among troops and civilians in the area.

513 Infantry Brigade Troops Organize a Rice and Curry Dansala to Mark The Poson Poya Day

513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again. ‘Bath Dansala’ (rice and curry) is a popular Buddhist tradition where free meals and refreshments are offered to the public, regardless of their religion or social status. The aim of this initiative was to promote communal harmony and cooperation among the people, especially during the Vesak and Poson Festivals, which is celebrated by Buddhists worldwide.

Commander Sf (Jaffna) Meets Government Officials and Religious Dignitaries

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothata met the Government Agent/District Secretary Mr A Sivabalasundran, Mr SM Saman Bandulasena Chief Secretary Jaffna, Rev Meegahajandure Siri Wimala Thero the chief Incumbent of Sri Nagavihara and Chief Incumbent of Navatkuli Temple on 29th May 2023. On the same day, Major General Bothota made surprise visit to St. John Bosco’s School to look into the progress of the under renovated building.
