513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention by constructing a new class room in J/Waddu Karthikanya Jaffna Primary School premises in 513 Infantry Brigade area of responsibility (AOR). It was a great necessity for this school and which will be of support to the education of school children. This project was organized as per the concept of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SPK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General SWB Welagedara RSP USP and the supervision of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier MR Razick RSP.
The financial contribution for the project was provided by a philanthropist in this area, Mr V Thabotharan, who is a past student of this school. Further, much needed technical assistance and manpower was provided by the troops of 11 SLLI under the supervision of Major KVSS Vithanage RSP psc, Commanding Officer of 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion.
The Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Major PHSJ Pathirange RWP RSP psc Second in Command 11 SLLI, Teachers and Students of J/Waddu Karthikanya Jaffna Primary School participated at the handing over ceremony of newly constructed class room on 17 July 2023.
