Laying of Foundation Stone for a New House and Distribution of Dry Ration Packs

Implementing the concept of extending community assistance to needy families, on instructions of Major General Jagath Kodituwakku RWP RSP ndu Commander Security Force - Jaffna, the foundation stone was laid by Commander 551 Infantry Brigade for the construction of a new house for the family of Mrs. Selvasannadi Darshani of Imayanan, Nelliadi on 11 September 2021, adhering to all Covid-19 prevention protocols.

Religious Activities in Jaffna to Invoke Blessing on The Nation

Religious activities were conducted at the Kailasanadar Vadiwambihei Shivam Kovil in Nallur and Sri Naga Viharaya in Jaffna to invoke blessing on the nation and eradication of Covid 19 pandemic on 09 September 2021.

This meritorious deed was organized by the Staff of Security Forces Jaffna under the guidance of Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodituwakku RWP RSP ndu on a direction received by the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc.

Jaffna Troops Conduct General Public Awareness Programme on Covid – 19 and Benefits of Vaccination

General public awareness programme on COVID -19 pandemic situation in Jaffna peninsula, prevention and precautionary measures of COVID -19 and benefits of inoculating vaccines was conducted by the troops of 51 division on 05 and 06 September 2021. Further, under this programme, people who live in Koopay, Kankasanthurei, Jaffna, Keeramalei were made aware of the importance of preventing covid -19, following the health guidelines including proper wearing of face masks, maintaining of social distance to control the spread of the new delta variant.

Donate Medical Devices to Jaffna Teaching Hospital

A stock of medical equipment and other accessories for the use of COVID-19 victims and other patients have been granted to the Sri Lanka Army by the American Sri Lanka Foundation. 05 Oxygen Concentrator of 10 Leter, 40 Rebreather Adult Concentration Oxygen Mask, 10 Filter +1 Tube and 05 Pulse Ox meters were received by the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna and they were officially donated to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital on 6th September 2021.

Newly Appointed General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division Begins Duties

Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc assumed duties as the 26th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna, amidst religious blessings and military formalities in accordance with existing health guide lines at the 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 03 September 2021.

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division was warmly welcome by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout followed by planting a Mango sapling to mark the event.

Troops Take Dry Ration Packs to Doorsteps in Jaffna

Following a generous sponsorship provided by the Chairman of the ‘Thyahie Charitable Trust’ and philanthropist Mr V Thyagendran, troops of 51, 52 and 55 Divisions under the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna coordinated and distributed 1000 dry ration packs among needy families in Kopay, Vartavilan, Araly, Meenachi, Karainagar, Thelippalei, Palely, Illakkadu, Urikkadu, Vidaththapalai, Kodikamam, Kovilakkanady, Allarai , Ellankulum, Katkovalam and Maradanderni area on Saturday (04) under the guidance of Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodituwakku RWP RSP ndu.

Frontline Health Workers of the Pandemic; Public Health Inspectors and Midwives Felicitated by Security Forces Commander in Jaffna

An indispensable section of the frontline workers of the COVID 19 pandemic; Public Health Inspectors (PHI) and Midwives who have faced unprecedented workload in overstretched health facilities and working in a stressful and frightening work environment, under-protected, overworked and vulnerable to infection came into appreciation for their untiring service in Jaffna today.

Two more Army Built Houses for the Homeless Warmed and Awarded in Jaffna

Troops of the Security Forces Jaffna once again extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build two new houses to underprivileged families in Kollankaladdi and Uduvil South Jaffna after their plights were brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

10 Million Rupee Granted to Itukama Covid - 19 Fund

Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust and a philanthropist donor, Mr Vamadeva Thiagendran who resides in Jaffna donated 10 million rupees to the “Itukama COVID – 19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund” that has been established by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to strengthen the mitigation activities aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19 virus in the country and related social welfare programmes.
