The traditional Katina Pooja in the historic Tissa Raja Maha Vihara in Kankesanthurai, was held by a series of religious observances under the patronage of the Chief incumbent of the temple. The climax of the whole religious festival took place on Saturday 13 November 2021 with the participation of Maha Sangha in the presence of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, the Commander Security Forces-Jaffna and military personnel.

On the guidance given by Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), General Officers Commanding of 51, 52 and 55 Divisions, Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders are vehemently supporting the affected civilians to regularize their livelihood and taking infectious actions to mitigate the prevailing adverse conditions.

Brigadier GGAS Wickramasena RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties as the 27th General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarters -Jaffna, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 28 November 2021.

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, assumed office as the 30th General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division on 27 October 2021 during a simple ceremony by adhering to military traditions and customs.

Brigadier TCMGST Cooray RWP RSP USP psc assumed the duties as the 24th Commander of 512 Infantry Brigade in Jaffna during a simple ceremony on Sunday 24 October 2021.

To coincide with the National War Heroes Week, troops of 553 Infantry Brigade in collaboration with the Coconut Cultivation Board and the Forest Department launched a tree planting programme inside the 553 Infantry Brigade premises on 25 October 2021.
