The newly appointed Commander, Security Force – Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu made a courtesy call on the Northern Province Governor, Hon. Mrs. P. S. M. Charles on Wednesday, 03 February 2021. Later, he had a cordial meeting with Mr. Kanapathipillai Maheshan, Government Agent of Jaffna.
Several important matters such as Covid 19 coordination and control operations, progress of Civil-Military Coordination and Reconciliation in Jaffna peninsula were discussed by Governor and Government Agent with the Security Force Commander. General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division and Commander 512 Infantry Brigade were also present during the discussions.

First group of frontline health force of Security Force (Jaffna) was jabbed with the first dose of Covishield vaccine at the Army Base Hospital, Vasavilan on Saturday, 30 January 2021. This will boost the confidence of the front liners who are engaged in fighting against spread of COVID - 19 in Jaffna peninsula. Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu who assumed duties as the 25th Commander Security Force - Jaffna, paid his maiden field visit to 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 25 January 2021.
The Security Force Commander was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division. The visiting commander planted a sapling to mark his maiden visit and then made his appearance on a group photograph. Then the General Officer Commanding conducted a comprehensive briefing on area of responsibilities of 52 Infantry Division. The Security Force Commander addressed the Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and troops belong to 52 Infantry Division followed by the lunch.
