  • New Basketball Court At 52 Division

    On a conceptual notion of Major General Sena Waduge, General Officer Commanding 52 Division a new Basketball Court was constructed to promote basketball and sportsmanship among Officers and Other Ranks serving under Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna . The Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID – 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc inaugurated the new basketball court on 17 July 2020 during his visit to Jaffna peninsula with the invitation of the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya.

    The Officers and Other Ranks under 52 Division Mirisuvil, contributed for the construction.

    Commander Security Forces – Jaffna, General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Senior Army Officers and Troops associated the Army Chief at the opening ceremony. The ceremony was conducted in line with current health guidelines.

  • Annual Grand Festival of Maviddapuram Kandasamy Temple Hosted By Security Forces on 10 July 2020

    Apart from massive social welfare projects, Security Forces Jaffna extends fullest supports to the conduct of religious festivals in Jaffna peninsula in view with promoting spiritual well being and religious harmony among Jaffna communities.

    Accepting the invitation made by the Chief Kurukkal of Maviddapuram Kandasamy Temple, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna took part in the festival performances accorded on 10 July 2020. Senior Army Officers and Troops associated with the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, and a lot of devotees were present at the occasion to receive blessing.

  • Brigadier Heyran Drahiem Assumes Duties as the Brigadier Admin and Quartering - Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna

    Brigadier Heyran Drahiem assumed office as the Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna on Wednesday 01 July 2020. He placed his signature in the first official document to mark assuming duties in the presence of Senior Staff Officers.

  • Senior Officers’ Professional Development

    A team of officers from the Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health, and Directorate of Psychological Operations conducted a two-day workshop for senior officers serving at the Security Forces - Jaffna regarding ‘Stress Management’ on 09 and 10 June 2020 at Security Forces Headquarters auditorium.

  • Jaffna Troops Continue Providing Relief to Deserving Families

    Amidst the fight against spread of COVID – 19 pandemic, troops under 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Women’s Corps extended humane support to deserving families in Myliddy and Urani area by distributing dry and fresh ration packs. The programme was conducted on 09 May 2020 on the directions of Major Rashmi Galhena, Commanding Officer 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Women’s Corps. A lot of Children and Pregnant women were benefitted during the distribution programme.

  • Presidential Task Force to Ensure Health Security of Tri Forces Visits Jaffna

    The Presidential Task Force to Prevent Covid-19 Virus among Tri Forces headed by Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke Governor of Western Province and other Task Force members made a field visit to Jaffna peninsula on 12th and 13th May 2020, to inspect and provide instructions on measures to be taken by all military establishments to prevent Covid-19 infection among Tri Forces personnel who are directly committed in controlling the spread of Covid-19 pandemc. Admiral (retired) Jayantha Perera, Major General (retired) Sumedha Perera, Rear Admiral (retired) Ananda Peiris and Dr. Kapila Jayarathna, the members of the Task Force were the other members of the delegation.

  • Dengue Prevention Campaign in Jaffna Town

    Troops under command to 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps executed a campaign to clean and clear the environment around Jaffna town in order to prevent Dengue epidemic on Saturday 19 April 2020. The camping was conducted upon the directives of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna and troops were guided by the Commanding Officer, 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps.

  • Security Forces Commander Visits the Brigades Under 51 Division

    10th May 2020 16:38:32 Hours

    Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, paid a field visit to 511, 515 and 513 Brigades Headquarters on Saturday, 22 February 2020.

    The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commander 511 Brigade, and conducted a comprehensive briefing on area of responsibilities. The Security Forces Commander addressed the troops and Staff Officers of 511 Brigade.

    Subsequently, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna visited 515 and 513 Brigades Headquarters. The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by Commanders 515 and 513 Brigades and conducted briefing on area of responsibilities, and it was followed by a troops address.

  • Jaffna Troops Engages in a Meditation Programme

    Coinciding with the Hindu religious festival Maha Siva Rathri that is celebrated on 21 February 2020, three-day meditation programme in coordination with Heartfulness Meditation Institute - India was organized by Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna from 21 February to 23 February 2020 at the Thalsevana Army Holiday Resort, Kankesanthurai. The programme aim is to promote mental and spiritual wellbeing of military personnel serving in Jaffna peninsula. The sessions of this voluntary three-day programme are conducted by the Heartfulness Meditation Institute.

    Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Senior Officers, Officers and Troops who have voluntarily come forward participated the programme.
