Security Force Commander Meets Bishop of Church of South India in Jaffna Diocese

Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu paid homage to Church of South India in Jaffna Diocese in Vaddukoddai on Wednesday, 10 February 2021 after assuming duties as the Commander Security Force - Jaffna.

He made a courtesy call on the Bishop of Church of South India in Jaffna Diocese Rt.Rev. Dr. Daniel S. Thiagarajah PhD and received blessings at the historical landmark in Vaddukkodai that was established in 1627 AD. Further, Security Force Commander had an interaction with the Bishop and emphasized the present and future Civil-Military coordination which are being conducted by security forces in Jaffna peninsula. The duo renewed their acquaintance that stands more than six years since the Security Force Commander was discharging responsibilities as Commander 513 Infantry Brigade in Keerimalai. During the friendly interaction, the Security Force Commander proposed his plan to convert the Vaddukoddai ground into a national level cricket stadium in which could encourage and unite cricketers from South and North to play tournaments and reflect reconciliation. Later, Commander Security Force - Jaffna inspected the renovation works of the church driven by the troops.

General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division and Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Jaffna were also present this occasion.
