Major General Senerath Bandara, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, paid a field visit to 515 Brigade Headquarters on Wednesday, 21 October 2020.
The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commander 515 Brigade, Brigadier Palitha Godallawaththa and conducted a comprehensive briefing on area of responsibilities.
Subsequently, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna visited 2nd Battalion of Gemunu Watch and 10th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Headquarters. The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officers. General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering Security Forces – Jaffna also joined in the visit.

Security Forces Jaffna in the wake of forthcoming milestone 71st Army Anniversary on 10 October 2020 launched a mega tree planting drive on 04 October 2020 in Palaly Army Cantonment.
The programme incepted on the directives of Major General Senarath Bandara Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Planted 2000 mango and jack saplings in the ‘Senura Uyana’ in Palaly.
Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Senior Staff Officers at Security Forces Headquarters Officers and troops joined to plant saplings during the programme.

Brigadier Kithsiri Liyanage assumed duties as General Officer Commanding 52 Division on Thursday 03 September 2020. He placed his signature in the first official document to mark assuming duties, amidst chanting of Seth Pirith. The formal ceremony followed by a Parade, Troops address and planting of a tree sapling.
Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers under 52 Division were present at taking over ceremony.

In Commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of 51 Division which belongs to Security Forces Jaffna, a blood donation programme was conducted in the Division Headquarters in Kopai on 18 August 2020. The programme was initiated under the directives of Major General Lalith Rathnayaka.

In appreciation of the assistance extended towards Sri Lanka Navy to resilience from hard times due to Covid 19 pandemic, Sri Lanka Navy in Jaffna peninsula offered an opportunity for troops under Security Forces Jaffna to go onboard at Sea cruise A - 543 fast passenger carrier on 16 August 2020.
The Army personnel including Senior Officers and Other Ranks who contributed to military operations to eradicate terrorism during conflict era joined in the voyage to experience the marine diversity and gain knowledge on Northern Sea.

Commemoration of Fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) who made supreme sacrifice during ‘Operation Pawan’ and other operations during the period from 1987 to 1990 in Sri Lanka was held at the IPKF Monument in Palaly on Saturday, 15th August 2020. The event took place in correspondence to the 74th Independence Day of India. Consul General of India in Jaffna, Mr. S Balachandran and Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Major General Lakshman Fernando paid tribute to the Fallen Heroes placing flower wreaths at the IPKF Monument.
Senior Army Officers, Officials from the Consulate General of India in Jaffna and Troops attended the ceremony.
