  • Jaffna Troops Continue Providing Relief to Deserving Families

    Amidst the fight against spread of COVID – 19 pandemic, troops under 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Women’s Corps extended humane support to deserving families in Myliddy and Urani area by distributing dry and fresh ration packs. The programme was conducted on 09 May 2020 on the directions of Major Rashmi Galhena, Commanding Officer 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Women’s Corps. A lot of Children and Pregnant women were benefitted during the distribution programme.

  • Presidential Task Force to Ensure Health Security of Tri Forces Visits Jaffna

    The Presidential Task Force to Prevent Covid-19 Virus among Tri Forces headed by Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonetileke Governor of Western Province and other Task Force members made a field visit to Jaffna peninsula on 12th and 13th May 2020, to inspect and provide instructions on measures to be taken by all military establishments to prevent Covid-19 infection among Tri Forces personnel who are directly committed in controlling the spread of Covid-19 pandemc. Admiral (retired) Jayantha Perera, Major General (retired) Sumedha Perera, Rear Admiral (retired) Ananda Peiris and Dr. Kapila Jayarathna, the members of the Task Force were the other members of the delegation.

  • Dengue Prevention Campaign in Jaffna Town

    Troops under command to 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps executed a campaign to clean and clear the environment around Jaffna town in order to prevent Dengue epidemic on Saturday 19 April 2020. The camping was conducted upon the directives of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna and troops were guided by the Commanding Officer, 6 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps.

  • Security Forces Commander Visits the Brigades Under 51 Division

    10th May 2020 16:38:32 Hours

    Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, paid a field visit to 511, 515 and 513 Brigades Headquarters on Saturday, 22 February 2020.

    The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by the Commander 511 Brigade, and conducted a comprehensive briefing on area of responsibilities. The Security Forces Commander addressed the troops and Staff Officers of 511 Brigade.

    Subsequently, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna visited 515 and 513 Brigades Headquarters. The Security Forces Commander was warmly welcomed by Commanders 515 and 513 Brigades and conducted briefing on area of responsibilities, and it was followed by a troops address.

  • Jaffna Troops Engages in a Meditation Programme

    Coinciding with the Hindu religious festival Maha Siva Rathri that is celebrated on 21 February 2020, three-day meditation programme in coordination with Heartfulness Meditation Institute - India was organized by Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna from 21 February to 23 February 2020 at the Thalsevana Army Holiday Resort, Kankesanthurai. The programme aim is to promote mental and spiritual wellbeing of military personnel serving in Jaffna peninsula. The sessions of this voluntary three-day programme are conducted by the Heartfulness Meditation Institute.

    Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Senior Officers, Officers and Troops who have voluntarily come forward participated the programme.

  • Shramadana Campaign Organized by 55 Division

    10th May 2020 13:17:26 Hours

    The 55 Division Headquarters, in concurrence with the 72nd National Independence Day organized a Shramadana Campaign on 06 and 07 February 2020 under the directions of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

    Troops involved in cleaning the Pulleyar Kovil, St Mary’s church, Palei Hospital and Muhavil Christmas Kovil, Army Camp premises and they too attended the cleaning either side of the A9 road in front of 552 brigade.

  • Shramadana Campaign Organized by 52 Division

    10th May 2020 13:15:49 Hours

    The 52 Division Headquarters, in concurrence with the 72nd National Independence Day organized a Shramadana Campaign on 06 and 07 February 2020 on the directions of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

    Troops involved in cleaning the Kodikamam Regional Hospital, Varani Maha Vidyalaya, Suththipuram and Sambaveli Pullar Kovil and Sri Samiddhi Sumana Buddhist Temple in Nawakkuli. Troops too attended the cleaning of Thondamanaru Coastal area and either side of the road between Jaffna to Point Pedro covering 1 Km.

  • Shramadana Campaign Organized by 51 Division

    A Shramadana Campaign was organized by 51 Division Headquarters, in concurrence with the 72nd National Independence Day on 06 and 07 February 2020 under the directions of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

    Troops involved in cleaning the Railway Station in Chunnakam, St Mary’s charch in Kopay, Mathkumman Hindu Temple in kayts, Sri Nagaviharaya temple in Jaffna, Matthumari Amman Kovil at Tholpuram, Naganlesvaram Kovil at Keeramale, Mavadipuram Kovil, and Raja Rajesweri Kovil at Ileyikadu.

  • Shramadana Campaign In Vasavillan

    Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, in concurrence with the 72nd National Independence Day organized a Shramadana Campaign to clear the school premises at Vasavillan Central College, Vasavillan on Friday, 07 February 2020. The troops under Security Forces Headquarters joined the campaign on the directions of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.

  • Self Defense Workshop for Soldiers

    10th May 2020 13:07:35 Hours

    On the Conceptual direction of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya Commander Security Forces Jaffna, a Self Defense Workshop designed to enhance the soldiers self defense techniques, was conducted at Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna from 01 February to 08 February 2020.

    A number of 31 Other Ranks from Under Command Battalions were trained by self - defense instructors of 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police in the 7 Days workshop. The workshop was end with an awesome self defense display and terminate with certificate awarding ceremony on 08 February 2020 in the presence of Major General Laxman Fernando, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North) as the chief guest. Senior Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
