Due to heavy rainfall, a severe flood situation was reported in the Asirigama village, which falls under the Palugaswewa Divisional Secretariat area of the SFHQ (E) region. As a result, a number of villagers were affected by the floods. Accordingly, a team of 01 x 12 troops from the 5th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps was deployed to rescue the affected civilians on 28 November 2025.

Troops of the 24 Infantry Division contributed to relief efforts following adverse weather conditions reported on 26 November 2025. Accordingly, a team from the 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the 241 Infantry Brigade, was deployed to clear a tree that had collapsed onto a house in Samanthurai, Kallarichchel area due to heavy rainfall.

Due to adverse weather conditions, a team of 1×25 troops from the 14th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was deployed to the left bank of the Duuwe Aru in the Pottuvil–Ulla area, which falls under the 24 Infantry Division of the SFHQ (E). The team carried out work to minimize damage to the riverbank by constructing a sand-filled barrier to prevent further erosion.

The 3 (v) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted rescue operations for civilians affected by flooding in Ellakotaliya village.

231 Infantry brigade troops coordinating with the civilians were carried out comprehensive a clean-up programmed both sides of the Ahas maliga road at Dimbulagala Temple on 04.11.2025.

With the intention of uplifting the living standards of civilians residing within the Security Forces - East, a Medical Camp was organized by the 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, in coordination with Community Development Centre, on 01 November 2025 at Mutur.

20TH BATTALION OF THE GAJABA REGIMENT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR THE KATINA PINKAMA AT THE GIRIHANDUSEYA RAJA MAHA VIHARAYA, THIRIYAI

On the instruction of the General Officer Commanding 22 Infantry Division and with participation of Commander 221 Infantry Brigade members of the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment contributed to the Katina Pinkama at the Thiriyai Girihanduseya RajamahaViharaya on 18th and 19th October 2025.

On the instruction of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division and the Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade, members of the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment contributed to the Katina Pinkama at the Parana medawachchiya Rangmaduwa Rajamaha Viharaya on 17th and 18th October 2025.

Due to the prevailing severe dry weather conditions the residents of pallawakulam village which belongs to the kuchchaweli Divisional Secretariat Division, have been facing great difficulties as they are unable to meet their daily activities and basic needs of their children because of the lack of drinking water.
