  • 5 (V) SLA BATTALION TRAINING CONCLUDES

    The final presentation of Battalion Training of the 5 (V) Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery was conducted on 20 & 21 November 2020 at Battalion Training School - Thaulwewa. The General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division Major General Channa Weerasuriya participated in the occasion as the Chief Guest and conducted the closing address. Brigade Commanders of 221, 222 & 223 Brigades, Commanding Officers of all Battalions, Chief Instructor – Battalion Training School and staff officers of 22 Infantry Division also participated in the event.

  • 231 INFANTRY BRIGADE CONDUCTS AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON COVID 19

    A community based awareness programme on prevention of spreading COVID 19 was conducted in 231 Infantry Brigade on 02 November 2020. The programme was launched by 4 GW troops with the direction of Commander 231 Infantry Brigade. The Police and staff of MOH office Batticaloa assisted for succeeding the programme.

  • COVID - 19 AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON THE POSSIBILITY OF WEARING MASKS

    An awareness programme and distribution of face masks were conducted in 231 Infantry Brigade on 22 Oct 2020 on its importance and necessity with the spread of the CORONA Virus. The programme was launched by 4 GW and 11 (V) SLSR troops with guidance of Commander 231 Infantry Brigade. Police, AMCOR and Lions Club and civil authorities gave support for the success of the programme.

  • 4 GW TROOPS CONDUCTS A SHARAMADANA CAMPAIGN

    Adding their contribution to one more community project at the request of hospital authorities, the troops of 4th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch under command to 231 Infantry Brigade joined hands with hospital staff on Sunday (18) to clean the Base Hospital Karadiyanaru Batticaloa which was selected as a Covid - 19 treatment center. On the directions of Headquarters 231 Infantry Brigade, the troops conducted the campaign to clean the surroundings which remained littered with garbage.

    On the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 24 Division Major General T D Weerakoon RWP RSP USP, a special programme was organized by the troops of 24 Division on Thursday (01) in collaboration with Urban Council of Ampara and Seylan Bank to mark the World Children’s Day. It was organized to provide incentives to deserving children in Ampara District.
