  • COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITED MITC AND 2ND BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY

    Colonel of the Regiment Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu paid his first official visit to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre (MITC) and 2nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry on 31 July 2018. The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commander - Mechanized Infantry Brigade Colonel L S Balachandra RSP, Centre Commandant Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP and Commanding Officer - Lieutenant Colonel A K Peiris RSP at the main entrance of 2nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry. A formal Guard Turnout presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment and he planted a tree sapling to mark his first official visit to the 2nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry.

  • NEWLY CONSTRUCTED ACCOMMODATION BUILDING VESTED TO THE SOLDIERS UTILISATION

    The newly constructed accommodation building was vested to the soldiers serving in the Regimental Centre during a simple ceremony on 12 July 2018. The Colonel of the Regiment Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu graced the ocassion as the Chief Guest. The project was completed with Army funds and manpower support of Mechanized Infantry soldiers. During the ceremony Colonel of the Regiment unveiled the main plaque, giving memories to the occasion.

  • MECHANIZED INFANTRY LADIES CLUB ORGANIZED AN EDUCATIVE LECTURE

    The Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club organized an educative lecture on "මුල් ළමා වියේ වැදගත්කම සහ තාරුණ්‍යයේ දරුවන්ගේ ගැටළු" (significance of the Early Childhood and the Issues of the Children at The Transformation to Adolescence).

  • MECHANIZED INFANTRY LADIES CLUB MEMBERS VISITED MIHINDU SETH MEDURA

    The President of Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club Mrs. Shiromi Masakorale and members visited the Mihindu Seth Medura, on 10 June 2018. During the ward visit they distributed gifts amongst differently abled war heroes and took time to interact with them. A special lunch was arranged for differently abled war heroes. The Ladies Club members donated special gift to the Mihindu Seth Medura for the use of differently abled war heroes. The Centre Commandant Colonel S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP and other senior Officers/Officers also attended for the event.

  • NEW COMMANDING OFFICER OF 3 MECHANIZED INFANTRY ASSUMED DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel D M M Dissanayake RWP took over duties as the Commanding Officer of 3 Mechanized Infantry on 07th May 2018. The new Commanding Officer was greeted with the Guard Turnout on arrival at the entrance to the 3 Mechanized Infantry. After, officially taking over duties at his office with religious blessings, he planted a sapling to symbolize the acceptance of the duties. Thereafter, he addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of the Battalion and emphasized on carrying out the responsibilities by each individual to achieve the goals. Later he visited the camp area and inspected the routine works.

  • MECHANIZED INFANTRY ROWERS DISPLAYED THEIR TALENTS IN NATIONAL ROWING COMPETITION - 2018

    The Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka (ARASL) organized 33rd National Rowing Competition 2018 at Diyawanna Oya from 20 to 22 April 2018. Major General M P Peiris (Retd) RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

  • ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF MECHANIZED INFANTRY LADIES CLUB

    The 11th Annual General Meeting of the Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club was held at the officers Mess, Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Panagoda on 08th April 2018. The newly appointed President of Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club Mrs. Shiromi Masakorala was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Nayana Balachandra and Mrs. Dulka Herath (Secretary). The event was ceremonially commenced with the lightening of traditional oil lamp. Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club Executive member Mrs. Nayana Balachandra welcomed all members to the day's event.
