The Corps of Engineer Services annual War Heroes Commemoration Ceremony and the Pirith Chanting Ceremony were held at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters on 06 January 2022 under the guidance of Brigadier KMS Kumara the Colonel Commandant CES the Director Engineer Services who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Floral tributes were placed at the War Heroes Memorial Monument by the Colonel Commandant, Senior Officers and Family members of the Fallen War Heroes and Civil employees who sacrificed their lives during the war. Later that day, the Pirith Ceremony preceded by a Colorful procession was held at Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters premises and it was followed by an almsgiving to Maha Sangha on the following day morning.

In connection with the 72nd Anniversary celebrations, the Corps of Engineer Services conducted Multi Religious observances to invoke blessings on all the members of the Corps. The Special Christian Service was held at Christ the King Church, Pannipitiya on 05 January 2022. The Hindu Religious Observance was conducted at Mayurapathi Kovil, Wellawatta on 04 January 2022. The Islamic Religious Observance was held at Jummah Masjid Hanwella on 03 January 2022.

The Corps of Engineer Services bade farewell to Maj Gen R Ganegoda psc the Commander Forward Maintenance Area (Mullaitivu) and Colonel Commandant CES on 10 Sep 2021 who is to be retired from the Army on 11 Sep 2021 after rendering a 34 years of exemplary and distinguished service to the Corps of Engineer Services, Sri Lanka Army and the Nation.

The five-storied new officers’ Mess building complex of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES), erected at the Regimental Centre at Panagoda was formally warmed this morning (2) and vested in the CES Officers during a simple ceremony, graced by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) as the Chief Guest.
