The Buddha Rashmi Vesak Festival – 2023 was held on May 05,06, and 07 at Gangarama Temple. The Veask Kalapaya included with various programs such as decorating the Vesak region with flags, lanterns and Illumination, conducting flower processions and displaying pandols and apaya show. The illumination of the Vesak Kalapaya was undertaken by the Armed Forces.
In addition to there were Vesak lantern competition which was held at Buddha Rashmi Vesak Kalapaya. Schools, Civil Persons and Institutions, Armed Forces displayed their lanterns for the competition. Among them, the Vesak lantern presented by the Corps of Engineer Services has won the 3rd place in the Buddha Rashmi National Vesak Festival – 2023.
Captain (QM)(Tech) BHP Samantha Kumara CES and his team created the Vesak lantern of Corps of Engineer Services.
