Madam Himali Pussella, the new President of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch assumed office during a brief ceremony held at President’s Office of Seva Vanitha Branch at Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala on 23 August 2023.

On arrival, Madam Himali Pussella was received by Madam Chrishi Gunathilake, Hon. Secretary, VIR Seva Vanitha Branch. Later on, amidst religious observances, Madam Himali Pussella placed her signature in an official document signifying the acceptance of the office.

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment ceremonially welcomed its 21st Colonel of the Regiment, Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP on 23 August 2023, in a brief ceremony held at the Regimental Centre Boyagane, Kurunegala in the presence of Regimental council members, Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, other officers and Regimental Sergeant Majors, all Senior Non-commissioned Officers, Non-commissioned officers, Other Ranks and civil servants.

Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 17 August 2023 during an auspicious ceremony held at SLAVF Headquarters in Kosgama.
A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour saluted the new Commandant in accordance with military formalities after he was welcomed on arrival at the premises. Subsequently, the formalities of assuming duties with the signing of documents at auspicious time marked the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances.

A new prefabricated accommodation building inclusive of all fundamental facilities which was constructed for the benefit of Other Ranks of the Regimental Centre, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was declared open by the Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc during a brief ceremony on 08 August 2023.
The Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Senior Officers, Regimental Staff and Other Ranks also participated in the ceremony.

The Officers’ Training Day for the second quarter of the year 2023 was successfully held at the Regimental Centre, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 04 August 2023 with the participation of more than 200 officers including several council members and a few other senior officers of the regiment.

The 12th Annual General Meeting of Ex-Servicemen Association of The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was held at The Salute Multifunctional Hall on 10 June 2023, with the patronage of Major General R V Samaratunga (retd) RWP RSP and Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc as the Chief Guest.

The new Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General S R B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assumed duties as the new Adjutant General of the Army Headquarters on 06 June 2023.
Placing his signature in an official document at the auspicious minute amid religious blessings, he symbolized the acceptance of his new appointment.
Prior to this new office, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare served as the General Officer Commanding 11 Infantry Division of the Security Forces HQ - Central.

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment emerged as Champions of the Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Novices Boxing Championship - 2023 which concluded on 02 June 2023, at Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda. Director Sports Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier Anil Peiris – SLAC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

While uplifting the living standard and the welfare of the soldiers as well as sporting abilities of the VIR boxers, an accommodation prefab building, ‘‘V Hive’’ cafeteria and renovated boxing ring were ceremonially declared open by the Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army, Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage during a solemn ceremony on 13 May 2023.

The SNCOs` training day for the year 2023 was held at the Regimental Centre the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 12 May 2023 with the participation of SNCOs including Battalion Sergeant Majors and Regimental Sergeant Major of the regiment.
