The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment - Seva Vanitha Branch members visited the 'Abhimansala II' (wellness resort) at Kamburupitiya on 20th July 2024 with the intention of inquiring about the well- being of those residing war heroes.

Mrs Thushara Yatiwawala Aluvihare, President of VIR-SVB graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Further, VIR-SVB members joined residents for a delicious tea arrangement with musical programme and did not forget to distribute some gifts among them and Caretakers also. Senior Officers, Officers and members of VIR-SVB also took part in the event.

The Vijaybahu Infantry Regiment bade formal farewell to the retiring Brigadier B D R Budagoda USP upon completion of 31 years of valuable service to the organization in a fitting ceremony which took place on 22 July 2024.
Accordingly, outgoing Brigadier Ranjith Budagoda was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout and a ceremonial Parade in appreciation of his service to the regiment, where he addressed all the troops and extended his thanks to all members.

Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, following its’ traditions and military formalities with the blessings of the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc and supervision of the Centre Commandant, saluted the newly promoted Major General WSN Hemarathne RWP RSP psc on 22 July 2024 in a fitting ceremony, held at the VIR Regimental Centre, Boyagane.

Under the patronage of the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Officers’ Training Day for the second quarter of the year 2024 was successfully held at the Regimental Centre, the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 26 June 2024 with the participation of more than 100 officers.

A colourful felicitation ceremony was held on Friday, 28 June 2024 at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment to salute the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc at the Regimental Centre, Boyagane. The ceremony follows the military traditions, customs and ethics bringing the pride and honour to the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, following its’ traditions and military formalities with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces Central and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc and supervision of the Centre Commandant, saluted the newly promoted Brigadier M L D S Molligoda USP psc, Brigadier B Y C Fernando RWP USP, Brigadier M J Ubeysekara RSP psc and Brigadier K H Perera RSP on 13 June 2024 in a fitting ceremony, held at the VIR Regimental Centre, Boyagane.

The Vijaybahu Infantry Regiment bade formal farewell to the retiring Brigadier S C Ekanayaka RSP upon completion of 35 years of valuable service to the organization in a fitting ceremony which took place on 13 June 2024.
Accordingly, outgoing Brigadier Shiron Ekanayaka was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout and a ceremonial Parade in appreciation of his service to the regiment, where he addressed all the troops and extended his thanks to all members.

The Vijayabahu Motocross - 2024, organized by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment in collaboration with Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association was held at Vijayabahu Motocross circuit at Boyagane on 31 March 2024. The event which was held after four years was an absolute success, and all spectators enjoyed thrilling experiences during the Vijayabahu Motocross - 2024 while creating avenues for riders to demonstrate their talents.

The 15th Contingent of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Company in the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) presented a ceremonial salute to Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, afore their departure to take over peacekeeping duties on 01 March 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Boyagane, Kurunegala.
