WO’s & Sgt’s mess Dinner Night of The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was held at ‘The Salute’ Multi-Functional Hall of Regimental Center on Saturday 30 April 2022. The Colonel of the Regiment Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Further, the respected council members also participated for the occasion. .
On arrival, Chief Guest was welcomed by WO I Senerath Bandara RSM RHQ VIR along with all of Snr NCOs belong to VIR. .

A series of events unfolded on 30 April 2022 as the unveiling of severalnew construction projects took place at the Regimental Center of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. New Juice Bar functioning together with the Bakery complex of RHQ Battalion was declared open by The Colonel of the Regiment Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, followed by the newly renovated, Grade I Staff Officer’s accommodation complex which is fully fetched and equipped with all modern facilities.

Under the patronage of Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage, Officers Training Day for the Second Quarter - 2022 was concluded with the participation of 165 officers belong to the regiment at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre on 29 April 2022 while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.

In accordance with the direction and supervision of the Colonel of the Regiment, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General Nishantha Manage, a workshop for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of VIR was successfully conducted from 21 April 2022 to 22 April 2022 at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.

Mrs. Nadee Silva, an honourable Executive Committee member of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, was awarded as the National Champion in Cooperate and Professional Sector Sales and Marketing at Sri Lanka Vanithabhimana Awarding Ceremony for year 2021, which was held on 08 March 2022 coinciding with International Women’s Day, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) carrom players were crowned as the Champions in the Inter Regiment Carrom Championship - 2022, held during 20 -25 March 2022 at the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) Regimental Centre premises.

Mrs Kumudu Manage, Chairperson of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch and its members in collaboration with the Institute of Indigenous Medicine University of Colombo, conducted an Indigenous Medical Procedure Camp for the service personnel, civil employees and their family members of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment who are in need of medical assistance, at the “Salute” Multifunctional Hall, Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre, Boyagane on 24 March 2022 (Thursday) under the patronage of Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S U M N Ma

A series of events unfolded on par with the celebration of 32nd Regimental Day of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 22 March 2022. One of the main events was the unveiling of the newly constructed office complex of the Ex-Servicemen branch, which consist of all the facilities and structural requirements of a fully fetched office building. The Colonel of the Regiment Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, graced this occasion as the chief guest. These notable events were organized by adhering all the health guidelines stipulated by the government to prevent COVID - 19 outbreak.
