On 04 June 2022, revitalizing an age-old military tradition, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Centre hosted a Farewell Military Dinner Night while adhering all the safety measures stipulated by the government and the health authorities to prevent the COVID- 19 pandemic, in honour of the retiring Major General K A N NKoswatta RWP RSP ndu and Brigadier G B Liyanage RSP, and outgoing members of the VijayabahuSevaVanitha Branch Mrs. SulochanaKoswatta and Mrs. NadeeLiyanageat “The Salute” multifunctional hall, in which the service was hailed and awarded accolades with the directions of the Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc.
Major General NalinKoswatta, Brigadier BandulaLiyanage and their spouses were welcomed warmly on arrival at the venue by officers and spouses of the Vijayabahu Family. The Centre Commandant raised the toast and made the laudatory speech at the occasion, in which he paid a glowing tribute to the distinguished military service of Major General NalinKoswatta and Brigadier BandulaLiyanageto the Sri Lanka Army.
The day's farewell treat reached at its climax with presentation of mementos to the day's protagonists in appreciation of the service rendered towards the Regiment. As a custom specially designed tokens of appreciation also was presented to the outgoing members of the VijayabahuSevaVanitha Branch Mrs. SulochanaKoswatta and Mrs. NadeeLiyanage. Senior officers, Staff Officers of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre and their spouses were there to bid them farewell.
