Finals in the Inter Regiment Badminton Championship 2021 underwent on 09 December 2021 at the Panagoda Indoor Stadium, graced by Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery, as the Chief Guest.

The preliminary rounds of the tournament began on 07 December 2021 to be competed by players in 11 Regiments and continued until the closing ceremony on Thursday (09). Total 4 Officers and 8 Other Ranks of VIR vied for supremacy during the tournament.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the VIR Seva Vanitha Branch was held on 04 December 2021 under the patronage of the Colonel of the Regiment VIR and Commander Army Training Command, Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, at the “Salute” Multifunctional Hall at Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak. The AGM was presided by the Hon. President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Kumudu Manage and was attended by Seva Vanitha Branch Executive Committee and members.

Inter Battalion Kabaddi Tournament 2021 Finals organized by 6 VIR ceremonially commenced with the patronage of Colonel of the Regiment VIR, Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, on 26 November 2021 at Regimental Centre sport complex with the gracious presence of Major General P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP, Commandant Combat Training School - Ampara. 17 battalions competed for the reign of Kabaddi on 23, 24, 25 and 26 November 2021, following COVID-19 health guidelines by the organizers.

Major General S U M N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc assumes office as the 20th Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 05 November 2021 during a brief ceremony at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala according to the instructions imposed by Army Headquarters while giving pride of place to military customs by adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.

On 04 November 2021, revitalizing an age-old military tradition, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Centre hosted a farewell ceremony by adhering all the safety measures stipulated by the Government and the health authorities to prevent the COVID- 19 pandemic, in honour of the retiring 19th Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major General S P K A Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP at the Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala, in which his 35 years of distinguished service was hailed and awarded accolades according to the instructions imposed by Army Headquarters.
