The 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock, under the auspices of its Seva Vanitha Branch, successfully conducted a Blood Donation programme on 29 September 2025 at Karandeniya Ambalangoda . This initiative, aligned with the Seva Vanitha Branch’s monthly schedule for September , was spearheaded by Mrs Niroshika Karunapala, President of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch.
The day’s proceedings commenced with the ceremonial arrival of the President and members of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch, who were warmly received by Mrs Eranga Madanayake , Vice President of SVB-SLACAL. The official programme began with the planting of a commemorative sapling by Mrs Karunapala, symbolising the unit’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and long-term community development.
A central component of the day's events was the Blood Donation Programme, conducted in collaboration with the Army Hospital Naraheenpita . This humanitarian initiative was carried out under the supervision and medical guidance of the centre’s staff. It witnessed the participation of approximately 100 donors, including members of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch, senior officers, officers, other ranks, and civilian employees of the unit.
Mrs Karunapala, in her capacity as President of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch, conducted an official inspection of the ongoing blood donation activities, recognising the volunteers’ contributions and extending her appreciation to the medical staff involved.
Brigadier TMSJ Thennakoon RSP, the Centre Commandant of SLACAL, also graced the occasion, lending his support to the initiatives carried out under the Seva Vanitha Branch's guidance. The day’s events collectively reflected the cohesive efforts of the military and civilian community within 2(V) SLACAL in promoting public service, environmental stewardship, and welfare-driven innovation.

The 3 (V) SLACAL Seva Vanitha Committee successfully conducted a Stationery Donation Program at 0900 hrs on 20 September 2025, dedicated to the children of military personnel who have left us for various reasons.
A total of 08 children participated in this noble initiative, which was organized with the vision and guidance of the Seva Vanitha Branch President, Mrs. Niroshika Karunapala
During the program, each child was presented with essential stationery items to support their education and was thereafter provided with a refreshing lunch as a gesture of care and encouragement.
Following the distribution ceremony, all members proceeded to visit the Water Hyacinth Project conducted by 3 SLACAL Seva Vanitha Committee , gaining valuable insight into its environmental and community benefits.

The Sri Lanka Army Corps of agriculture and livestock Seva Vanitha Branch held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23rd August 2025 at RHQ - SLACAL under the esteemed patronage of the Branch President Mrs. Niroshika karunapala along with the participation of executive committee members, spouses of senior officers, and invited guests.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp, followed by the singing of the Seva Vanitha song. A moment of silence was observed in honor of the fallen war heroes.
Delivering the welcome address, Mrs.Niroshika karunapala reflected on the branch’s achievements during the past year. She highlighted a range of successful welfare initiatives, outreach projects, and support services carried out for the benefit of SLACAL personnel and their families.
The meeting proceeded with the presentation and unanimous adoption of the previous AGM minutes and the audited financial report for the year.
A short video documentary showcasing the Seva Vanitha Branch’s activities over the year, including visits, donation drives, and empowerment programmes, was also screened during the event.
The AGM concluded with the election of new office bearers for the upcoming year.
In conjunction with the AGM, a laptop computer was donated for a girl's higher education.
The day's proceedings concluded with an inspiring motivational lecture delivered by Lieutenant Colonel E.A.A.S Chamindha, providing valuable insights to the attendees.
The gathering ended with a vote of thanks reinforcing the continued unity and service spirit of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch.

In keeping with the vision of the newly appointed President of Seva Vanitha Branch - Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL) Mrs. Niroshika Karunapala, a charitable donation program was successfully conducted at the Sri Lanka Cancer Society Galle - Karapitiya on 12 July 2025 at 1400 hrs. The event aimed to provide Rs. 200,000.00 worth of essential items required for the care and comfort of patients undergoing treatment at the Krapitiya hospital.
This compassionate initiative saw the active participation of the Vice President, and members of the SLACAL Seva Vanitha Branch, who collectively contributed their support to ensure the success of the program.
Adding further significance to the occasion, the Centre Commandant of SLACAL, Brigadier Suneetha Thennakoon, along with several senior officers, attended the event, symbolizing the Corps’ steadfast commitment to social service and civic engagement.
All donations were generously provided by the under-command Battalions of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, demonstrating unity of purpose, generosity, and the enduring spirit of military brotherhood and care.

Mrs Niroshika Karunapala officially assumed the esteemed position of President of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch during a dignified ceremony held on 26 June 2025 , at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.
Upon her arrival, Mrs Niroshika Karunapala was warmly welcomed by Mrs Eranga Madanayake , Vice President of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch. The inauguration commenced with religious observances, followed by the formal installation of Mrs Niroshani Karunapala as President, signified by her signature on official documents according to the traditions.
Subsequently, Mrs Niroshika Karunapala engaged in a productive dialogue with the Seva Vanitha Branch members, discussing upcoming events and the necessary preparation for their successful execution.

On March 29th, 2025, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock appreciate the achievements of Grade 5 scholarship exam winners with a grand ceremony held at the corps of Engineer Service in Panagoda.
The event was led by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage, who commended the young scholars for their hard work and dedication.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Center Commandant, Brigadier TMSJ Thennakoon RSP, along with senior officers , officers of RHQ and Seva Vanith Branch members who participated in the event and shared their words of encouragement with the students.
A total of 11 bright students participated in the event, where they were presented with textbooks, shoes, uniforms, and certificates as a appreciation of their academic excellence. The ceremony was held with great enthusiasm, and the students’ faces radiated pride and joy as they received their awards.
As part of the special day, the students were also given the opportunity to explore the iconic Lotus Tower, a symbol of modern Sri Lanka. This tour was a highlight of the event, providing the students with an inspiring glimpse into the country's technological advancements.
The ceremony not only appreciate the success of the students but also emphasized the importance of encouraging young talent to pursue their academic dreams. The Sewa Vanitha Branch remains dedicated to supporting such initiatives and fostering the growth of future leaders.

A shramadhana campaign was conducted on 22 February 2025 at Anula Children’s Home based on a concept by Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage, the President of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and livestock Seva Vanitha Branch.
This event was carried out with the participation of all members of Seva Vanitha Branch and troops. On 23 February 2025 evening tea was provided for 30 children’s who was in probation and child care centre at Anula Children Home -Balapitiya. Additionally essential items were donated and an entertainment programme also conducted to help the children’s relaxation and enjoyment.

In celebration of the 4th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, a meaningful school equipment and footwear distribution program was held on 4th January 2024, at the Regimental Center. This initiative was launched under the visionary concept of Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage, the Honorary Chairperson of the Sewa Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.
The program aimed to support 30 children entering Grade one in 2025. This heartfelt gesture underscores the commitment to uplifting the lives of military and civil workers families and fostering educational opportunities for their children.
The event was made possible through the generous financial contributions of the Colonel Commandant Major General UKDD Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, along with the Center Commandant, Commanding Officers, and members of the Sewa Vanitha. Their donations of school supplies and footwear ensured the program's success, offering these young learners the essential tools to begin their academic journey.
