  • SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ORGANIZED AN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAMME ON 14 MARCH 2026

    The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock successfully organized a special programme to commemorate International Women’s Day on 14 March 2026 at the Ranaviru Aparel - Yakkala, with the participation of Seva Vanitha members. The event commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, the president of the Seva Vanitha branch, Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, and Director General and Finance Management Branch and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Major General K.D.M.L. Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc.

    The formal proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the chief guest together with other members, symbolizing unity and prosperity. Thereafter, the gathering joined in singing the Seva Vanitha song, marking the official commencement of the programme.

    Following the formal start, a friendly gathering was held for the ladies in celebration of International Women's Day. The participants thoroughly enjoyed themselves as various events and activities were organized specifically for them. After the conclusion of the lunch, the gathering came to an end and everyone dispersed.

  • WHEELCHAIR DONATION PROGRAMME – SEVA VANITHA BRANCH SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

    Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock organized a wheelchair donation programme on 14 March 2025 at Ranawiru Aparal, Yakkala. The donation programme was headed by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL), Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara.

    On this occasion, a wheelchair donated by Mrs. Niluka Weligama was presented to the father of WII Sanath Kumara HGK.

    The Vice President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Nelum Samarathunga, the Secretary, Mrs. Nilanka Sumuduni Rathnayake, and Mrs. Niluka Weligama also participated in this occasion.

  • STATIONERY DONATION PROGRAM – 4 (V) SEVA VANITHA BRANCH SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK

    A essential school equipment and footwear distribution program was held on 14th February 2025, at the 4(V) SLACAL Camp premises. This initiative was launched under the visionary concept of Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara the Honorary Chairperson of the Sewa Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

    The program aimed to support 17 children entering Grade one in 2026. This heartfelt gesture underscores the commitment to uplifting the lives of military and civil workers families and fostering educational opportunities for their children.

    During the program, each child was presented with essential stationery items to support their education and was thereafter provided with a refreshing lunch as a gesture of care and encouragement.

    Following the distribution ceremony, all members proceeded to visit the Dahaspethiya Followers Project conducted by 4(V) SLACAL Seva Vanitha Committee , gaining valuable insight into its environmental and community benefits.

    The Committee and other members of SVB SLACAL participated for the above event.

  • Sri Lanka Army corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch Conducts Visit to Ranaviru Sevana – Ragama Rehabilitation Centre

    In line with the 2026 Annual Plan of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), a compassionate visit was organized to the Ranaviru Sevana – Ragama Rehabilitation Centre on 20 January 2026. The visit was conducted under the patronage of the Honorable Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, together with Major General KDML Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, Director General of the Financial Management Branch and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock

    As part of this meaningful initiative, fruit baskets and tea were thoughtfully arranged and offered to the resident War Heroes, reflecting care, appreciation, and gratitude for their invaluable sacrifices to the nation.

    Further, gift parcels containing essential hygiene items were distributed to support their daily personal needs and wellbeing.

    The visit reaffirmed SVB - SLACAL ’s enduring commitment to the welfare, dignity, and wellbeing of War Heroes who have selflessly served the country.

  • Meeting of the First Quarter – Year 2026 Seva Vanitha Branch, SLACAL

    The First Quarterly Monthly Meeting of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock was held on 14 January 2026 at the Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock, Karandeniya.

    The meeting was presided over by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara.

    Under the guidance and supervision of the President, several important decisions were taken to further strengthen ongoing projects, and constructive discussions were held with the aim of uplifting the Seva Vanitha Branch as a whole.

    In parallel with the meeting, a meaningful donation of school items was made to a selected Grade 6 schoolgirl, with the objective of encouraging her educational journey and enhancing morale towards learning.

    Committee members and other members of the Seva Vanitha Branch (SVB–SLACAL) participated in this meeting, which marked the first monthly meeting conducted under the leadership of the newly appointed President.

  • Celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock – Relief Programme for Flood Victims

    In line with the 5th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock (SLACAL), a dry ration distribution programme was conducted on 03 January 2025 at the Regimental Centre.

    This welfare programme was initiated under the guidance of Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, Honorary Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch – SLACAL, with the objective of providing relief to flood-affected families.

    Each dry ration pack, valued at over Rs. 8,000.00, consisted of essential dry rations and kitchen household items.

    The programme was attended by Mrs. Nilangani Samaradiwakara, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – SLACAL, senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, along with Officers and Other Ranks.

  • President of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch Visits Seva Vanitha Projects

    Mrs Nilangani Samaradiwakara, The President of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and livestock Seva Vanitha Branch , together with Mrs Nelum Samarathunga, The Secretary of Seva Vanitha Branch visited the Seva Vanitha Projects at RHQ SLACAL and 2(V) SLACAL on 17 th December 2025.

    During the visit, they observed the ongoing Thala Project at RHQ -SLACAL and reviewed the current procedures in detail. They provided valuable guidance to enhance efficiency and productivity while emphasising the importance of innovation and optimisation for the long-term success of the project.

    After that , they inspected the Coconut shell products project and bite Project of 2(V) SLACAL.

    The Committee and other members of SVB SLACAL Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Rankers participated in the visit.

  • SEVA VANITHA UNIT OF THE CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK FACILITATES DONATION TO FLOOD-AFFECTED FAMILIES

    The Seva Vanitha Unit of the Corps of Agriculture and Livestock successfully coordinated a humanitarian relief project to support families affected by the recent floods and landslides in the Kandy district.

    Through the initiative of the Seva Vanitha Unit, generously contributed dry ration packs and essential household items worth around Rs 5.5 Mn, which were distributed to displaced families facing severe hardships due to adverse weather.

    This timely donation not only brought essential relief to the affected communities but also showcased the strong partnership between the Sri Lanka Army and civil society in responding to national needs.

    The Corps of Agriculture and Livestock remains committed to strengthening community welfare efforts and is grateful to everyone who contributed to making this relief programme a success.

  • MRS NIlANGANI SAMARADIWAKARA ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE PRESIDENT OF SRI LANKA ARMY CORPS OF AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK-SEVA VANITHA-BRANCH

    Mrs Nilangani Samaradiwakara officially assumed the esteemed position of President of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch during a dignified ceremony held on 07 November 2025 , at the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock.

    Upon her arrival, Mrs Nilangani Samaradiwakara was warmly welcomed by Mrs Chamila Wickramasinghe, Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture & Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch. The inauguration commenced with religious observances, followed by the formal installation of Mrs Nilangani Samaradiwakara as President, signified by her signature on official documents according to the traditions.

    Subsequently, Mrs Nilangani Samaradiwakara engaged in a productive dialogue with the Seva Vanitha Branch members, discussing upcoming events and the necessary preparation for their successful execution.

  • SVB - SLACAL Honors Grade 5 Scholarship Achievers in Grand Ceremony and Celebrates World Children’s Day

    On October 19th, 2025, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock celebrated the achievements of Grade 5 scholarship exam winners with a grand ceremony and Celebrates World Children’s Day Programme held at the Regimental Center Vijayabhahu Infantry Regiment.

    The event was led by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Niroshika Karunapala , who commended the young scholars for their hard work and dedication.

    A total of 16 students who got through from scholarship exam were participated in the event, where they were presented with educational items, shoes, uniforms, and certificates as recognition of their academic excellence. The event brought immense joy and happiness to the children and families of SLACAL members. The day’s programme included entertaining games, musical performances, and various fun-filled activitie and a special tea party for children and their parents.

    The ceremony not only appreciated the success of the students but also emphasized the importance of encouraging young talents to pursue their academic dreams. The Sewa Vanitha Branch remains dedicated to supporting such initiatives and fostering the growth of future leaders.

    The event concluded with heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and leaving them motivated and excited for the future ahead.
