Jaffna Troops Commemorate Poson Festival
To mark the Poson Poya Day, many programms were conducted under the instructions of Major General Prasanna Gunarathne, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division.
To be an effective instrument to the Government Endeavour to cultivate national harmony in Jaffna Peninsula through uplifting the physical quality of life and spiritual value of the people.

In coinciding with the World Environment Day, 23rd Battalion of Gemunu Watch, under command to 55 Infantry Division, planted 25 coconut saplings on both sides of the A - 09 road in Muhamalei Area on 05th June 2023.
A series of events were organized by the troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) to celebrate Poson Poya Day as per the guidance of overlooking Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General KPSA Fernando RWP RSP ndu on 03rd June 2023. At the Headquarters premises a Dhamma Sermon was conducted and on the same day Roti (Flat Bread), Manioc, Coriander Herbal Tea and Belimal Herbal Tea were distributed among troops and civilians in the area.

Newly constructed Dispensary and the Medical Laboratory ceremonially opened at the Palaly Army Base Hospital premises by Major General Swarna Bothota, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on the invitation of Major LD Rathnaweera USP, the Commanding Officer of Army Base Hospital Palaly on29 May 2023 with the participation of Hospital Staff.
Major General Swarna Bothota, who held the office of the Commander of Security Forces - Jaffna, relinquished the appointment on 31st May 2023 to retire from the Army regular force after completing over 35 years of illustrious service.

Major General Swarna Bothota cut the ribbon and formally opened the accommodation block.
