Troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) Celebrates Poson Poya Day

A series of events were organized by the troops of Security Forces (Jaffna) to celebrate Poson Poya Day as per the guidance of overlooking Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General KPSA Fernando RWP RSP ndu on 03rd June 2023. At the Headquarters premises a Dhamma Sermon was conducted and on the same day Roti (Flat Bread), Manioc, Coriander Herbal Tea and Belimal Herbal Tea were distributed among troops and civilians in the area.

To celebrate Poson Poya Day, 3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps organized a Roti (Flat Bread) and Coriander Herbal Tea dansala along with a display of an elegant Mihinthale Structure in front of the welfare shop. With the participation of Other Ranks of 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Women’s Corps and 3rdRegiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps a Bakthigeetha Programme was conducted. 10 Field Engineer Regiment organized Biscuits and Coriander Herbal Tea dansala and, in front of the 521 Infantry Brigade Headquarters with the contribution of Officers and Other Ranks a Coriander Herbal Tea dansala was conducted and approximately 410 civilians participated to the event.

In response to a request made by Venerable Hanwelle Rathanasiri, the Chief Incumbent of the Nawatkuli Samiddhi Sumana temple, troops including 523 Brigade, 11 Field Engineer Regiment and 7 Vijayabahu infantry Regiment provided their fullest support to conduct a Poson Poya Dansal Program at Nawatkuli Samiddhi Sumana temple on 03 June 2023.
