Fallen war heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) during operations against LTTE terrorists from 1987 to 1990 in Sri Lanka were commemorated and their sacrifices were remembered at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Monument in Palaly on 15th July 2023.

The troops of 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment have taken part of community cleaning and awareness programme at J/Thamodara School J/361 Karanavai (West) and directed by Commander 521 Infantry Brigade and General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division on 09th August 2023.

The most recently appointed Commander of 523 Infantry Brigade, Colonel MBL Perera RSP USP psc of Gamunu Watch assumed duties on 04th August 2023 at his Office in Allarai. The formal military ceremony including Guard Turnout and addressing of Troops under command was held with the participation of all Commanding Officers, Officers belong to 523 Infantry Brigade.

The 31st death anniversary of the legendry military leader in the Sri Lankan Military History, Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcdspscand several other military War Heroes were commemorated at Araly Point Monument, Kayts with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and Senior Officers of Tri services on 08th August 2023. The ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General SWB Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndu.

The day’s proceedings instigated with a two-minute silence observed in honour of the War Heroes who laid their lives for the motherland. Later, laying floral wreaths to the Araly Points Monument, Kayts took place by the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and Senior Officers of Tri Forces.

With the intention of developing the communal harmony and the cordial relationship between the military and the people of the Jaffna peninsula, troops of the 11th Vijayabahu Infantry Rejiment organized a cleaning program along the Akkarai Beach on 6th August 2023.

Soldiers taking a little time off from their routine duties, played a friendly cricket match with the youth of Navatkully village in Jaffna on Sunday, 6th August 2023. Jaffna youth defeated the Army boys and the two teams shared lunch offered by the soldiers after the match.

Troops of 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment organized a cleaning programme at Iyakachchi GTM School on 04 August 2023. This programme has been arranged with the objective of uplifting the standard of school environment, which will be benefited for childrens day school activities and maintain their health standards.

Dimbulagala Regional Education Authority had organized an awarding ceremony anually to award honourafic title for people, who have done a tremendous effort for the perpetuation of Buddhist culture, sacrificed their lives for the sake of patriotism, public safety and welfare.

Major General MKUP Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division made an official visit to the recently redeployed 552 Infantry Brigade at Poonaryn on 25 July 2023. Moreover, he visited 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard, both battalions performing duties under the 552 Infantry Brigade. Further, General Officer Commanding addressed the troops and visited the camp area.
