  • Army Base Hospital Palaly Opens Newly - Constructed Intensive Care Unit and The Emergency Treatment Unit

    As per the invitation of Major L D Rathnaweera USP, the Commanding Officer Army Base Hospital Palalythe newly-constructed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Treatment Unit (ETU) was declared open during a brief ceremony held on 20 November 2022 under the patronage of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General ChandanaWijayasundara.

  • Innovative Software Installed in Remarkable Gesture at Thalsevana Army Resort

    As per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, “Thalsevana Hotel Management System Software”, developed by Directorate of Information Technology was installed amidst the Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier Ajith Senadeera and all staff of Thalsevana Army Resort Kankasanturai on 17 November 2022.

    For the purpose of enhancing the knowledge, attitudes, skills and communication ability of healthcare professionals and coordination of peripheral care in the region of Security Forces (Jaffna), a Medical Workshop was organized by the Army Base Hospital (Palaly) on 06 November 2022 in the main auditorium.

    It has been observed that due to excessive amount of illicit drug transportation at present, the young generation has been severely addicted to drugs. Accordingly, as per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara and the guidance of General Officer Commandings of 51 and 52 Infantry Divisions, Intelligence troops of 512 Infantry Brigade and troops of 11 Battalion Sri Lanka Engineers have successfully conducted a Combine Operation to capture illicit cannabis at the time of landing from the sea at Ariyalei East.

Meegahajandure Siriwimala Thero, following guidelines given by Major General Mahendra Fernando, General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division.

    Defence Adviser at the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Captain Vikas Sood paid a courtesy visit to the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on Thursday the 03rd November 2022.

    Colonel Asitha Pushpakumara RWP RSP USP psc, Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), warmly welcomed the visiting Defence Adviser at the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka. During the visit, he had a formal meeting with the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu. At the meeting they discussed the present security situation in the Jaffna Peninsula and the role of the Security Forces (Jaffna).
