Defence Adviser at the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Captain Vikas Sood paid a courtesy visit to the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on Thursday the 03rd November 2022.
Colonel Asitha Pushpakumara RWP RSP USP psc, Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), warmly welcomed the visiting Defence Adviser at the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka. During the visit, he had a formal meeting with the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu. At the meeting they discussed the present security situation in the Jaffna Peninsula and the role of the Security Forces (Jaffna).

It has been observed that due to excessive amount of illicit drug transportation, at present the young generation have been severely addicted to drugs. Accordingly, as per the conceptual guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu a task force is to be established to prevent the usage of illicit drugs. The newly established task force conduct continuous search missions and prevent from accessibility of drugs in to Jaffna area, arrest people who possess, transport and selling illicit drugs.
