  • 3rd Basic English Language Course in 2022 Commenced in Jaffna

    As the concept of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, 3rd Basic English language course for troops in Jaffna peninsula was commenced on 27 April 2022 and it will be terminated on 27 May 2022.

  • USA Ambassador on Courtesy Visit to Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna

    H.E. Ambassador for the United State of America in Sri Lanka, Mrs Julie J Chung extended a courtesy call on the Commander Security Forces, Jaffna Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu at the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) during her official visit to Jaffna peninsula on 24 April 2022.

  • Sinhala and Tamil 412 New Recruits Pass out in Jaffna

    Four hundred and twelve recruits who trained at the Battalion Training School in Wasavillan, Jaffna passed out during a simple ceremony, after successful completion of their four - month basic training on Saturday 09 April 2022.

  • English Language Course Ends Successfully

    2nd Basic English Language Course in 2022 to improve English Language Skills of Soldiers serving in the Jaffna Peninsula was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna from 08th March 2022 to 07th April 2022. Thirty Two soldiers from various regiments benefitted from this course, which covered different aspects of the language and its application. The 1st in order of merit was secured by Corporal Munasinghe JPPD, while Private Lakmal MGVS and Private Ananda RMLP secured the 2nd and 3rd places of the Course respectively.

  • Jaffna Commander Addressed Troops to Brief the Ongoing Situation in the Country

    Commander of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna Maj Gen Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, on the instructions of the CDS and Commander of the Army Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, addressed troops of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Forward Maintenance area (North) 51 Infantry Division, 52 Infantry Division and affiliated battalions of SFHQ in order to brief them about the prevailing situation in the country and the role of the Army.

  • 52 Infantry Division GOC Begins Duties

    Brigadier Udaya Herath assumed duties as the 28th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters -Jaffna, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 14 March 2022.

  • Funeral Honours Team Provides Final Respect to Cfn Vivek N of Achchuweli

    A military funeral that took place on 04 March 2022 at Achchuweli Cemetery, saluted to one of the most dedicated Tamil soldier who joined the 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from Jaffna peninsula. S/M101392 Cfn Vivek N was residing at Muthumari Amman Kovilladi, Achchuweli passed away last Thursday 3rd March 2022, due to sickness while on service having served the Army for more than 8 years.
