A military funeral that took place on 25th January 2023 at the Keerimalei General Cemetery, saluted to one of the most dedicated Senior Non - Commissioned Officer, who joined to the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry from Jaffna peninsula. S/10439 Sergeant Sundaram Arulambalam, who was residing at Mawenkalladi, Thelippalei passed away last Monday 23rd February 2023, due to a sudden illness while he was enjoying his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army since 16th March 1980.
During his tenure, heroic soldier Sundaram Arulambalam had shown his patriocity to our motherland and he won the hearts and minds of soldiers as well as Officers of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
Military funeral organized under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Swarna Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General Wajira Welagedara RSP USP ndc and under the close supervision of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Rizvi Razick RSP. 9th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry took charge of remains of late Arulambalam as the funeral procession reached the Keerimalei General Cemetery premises where Sri Lanka Army saluted.
