11th Regt Sri Lanka Artillery under 231 Brigade of 23 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) provided cooked meals and medical assistance to rescued people who have been temporally housed in Deevapuram Gajapuran Vidyalaya, Siththivinayager School Siththandy and Central College, Vandaramulla on 24 December 2014. 6th Bn Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment located at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) organized a “Dansala” for devotees who attended for the Christmas Festival at Kuchchaweli area on 25th December 2014. (No of Troops Participated 01 x 10)

5th Regt Sri Lanka Artillery located under the 224 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) organized a “Dansala” for devotees who attended for the Christmas Festival at Patalipuram in Muthur DS area on 25 December 2014. (No of Troops Participated 05 x 20)

15th Sri lanka Light Infantry located under 224 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) distributed school amenities among 05 x children in Sinnathottam of Faisalnagar GS area on 25th Dec 2014. (Troops participated 01 x 08)

6th Bn Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment located at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), organized a “Shramadana Campaign” to clean the premises of Nilaweli Pulleyar kovil in Kuchachaweli on 05th Dec 2014. (Troops participated 00 x 06)

5th SLAMC located at Habarana serving under the FMA (East) in Security Force (East) AOR conducted medical clinics for people who have been temporally housed in Medirigiriya area. They have conducted 4 medical clinics respectively in Navodya School Medirigiriya, Viharagama Temple Medirigiriya, Nawahirigama Praja Shalawa and Thabala Alhidiya Vidyalaya. About 240 people had attended for the clinics. (Troops Participated 02 x 10)

Commander Security Force (East) Maj Gen SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG attended for a media briefing in respect of flood relief activities conducted by the army troops of SF HQ (East) AOR. The media briefing was held at the School of Artillery, Minneriya on 26.12.2014. After the media briefing Commander Security Force (East) visited the flood effected areas in Muttur and discussed the matters with the villagers at Neelapola Temple, Muttur.

3rd Bn Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the 241 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), assisted to transport the staff, assets and documents of the Eastern University, Oluwil to a safe place due to flood on 27 December 2014.

5th Regt Sri Lanka Artillery located under the 224 Brigade of 22 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) distributed more than 300 food parcels for dinner for flood victims at Nilapola village in Muthur DS area on 26 December 2014. (No of Troops Participated 01 x 08)

8th Sri Lanka National guard under the 241 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), provided labour assistance to build the drainage system running from 5th Mile Post to Pulipanchikal and mended places which were damaged due to the heavy rain.(No of Troops Participated 01 x 20)
