23 Infantry Division bid farewell to the outgoing General Officer Commanding, Major General P S Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, in a formal ceremony held on Tuesday, 21June 2025, at the Headquarters of the 23 Infantry Division.
Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, as part of ongoing civil-military coordination activities, the 11 (V) Battalion of the Sinha Regiment conducted a dry ration and lunch packet donation programme with the concept of the Commander, 243 Infantry Brigade.
The Security Forces (East), in collaboration with the 7th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, the 12th Battalion of the Gamunu Watch, the 3 (V) Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, the Wildlife Department, and Mahaweli officers, conducted an operation to drive 26 wild elephants from Mivithapura to Nuwaragala on June 19, 2025. This initiative aimed to mitigate damage caused by wild elephants to paddy fields and to safeguard local communities.
