  • DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGNS IN 22 DIVISION

    In line with the CIMIC activities conducted in 22 Division" troops of 6th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 2nd Battalion of (V) Gajaba Regiment under 221 Brigade AOR took part in Dengue Prevention Campaigns at several schools of the area on 25 June 2020. The programs were conducted in Kumburupiddi Tamil Mixd School, Vivekananda Tamil Maha Vidyalaya and Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya where Navy, Police, CSD troops and staff of the Governor’s Office Trincomalee, PHIs, teachers and parents also joined hand with the troops for this worthy project

Daranagama Kusaladhamma Thero (29 July 1963 – 3 March 2018) who was the Chief Incumbent of the Colombo Sri Sambodhi Viharaya and the Sambodhi Community Development Foundation in London, a special program was organized at the historical Deegawapiya Raja Maha Viharaya on the 29th February and the 1st of March.

  • 242 BRIGADE ORGANIZED A LECTURE ON DRUG PREVENTION

    A total of 250 teachers and students of Lahugala Maha Vidyalaya Ampara participated for an awareness lecture on ‘National Drug Prevention’ organized by 242 Brigade in close cooperation with the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) at the school premises on Tuesday (18). The purpose of the lecture was to educate the young generation on the effects of intoxicants and reduce the usage of alcohol, tobacco and smuggled narcotics, etc.

  • 231 BRIGADE COORDINATES A DONATION OF BEDDING ITEMS

    Under the direction of the General Officer Commanding 23 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasundara, Headquarters 231 Brigade organized a donation programe of bedding items with the financial contribution of Commercial Bank at Kokkadicholai Muthali Kuda School on 08th February 2020. 250 flood affected families of Unnachchiya area were benefited by the programme.

  • A DONATION OF DRY RATION PACKS, HOUSEHOLD EQUIPMENT AND SCHOOL ACCESSORIES

    With the guidance of the Commander 222 Brigade, Colonel Wiraj Wimalasena, a donation of ration packs, household equipment and school accessories among school children and women of poverty-stricken families of Mahawelipura area was taken place at Mahawelipura Temple, on 08 February 2020. 5th (Volunteer) Battalion of Sri Lanka Artillery organized this event with the auspices of the Chairman of Sampath Sofa, Panadura, Mr. Sampath Fonzeka.
