At around 0430 pm on 22 June 23, fire broke out at the garbage dumping site in the Trincomalee Municipal Council located at Kanniya. Troops of 22 Infantry Division was able to stop progress of spreading fire in the garbage dumping site with the support of Navy, police, fire fighting brigade and civilians in the area.

Coastal area at Sinnamuhaththuwaram at Akkaraipattu is highly polluted due to the discarded wrappers, plastic bottles and heats of polythene and it is caused to pollute the beautiful coastal area. Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc and the supervision of Commander 241 Infantry Brigade Colonel LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP, 01x20 11 SLNG troops were participated in a beach cleaning program at the Sinnamuhaththuwaram beach on 09 June 2023 coordinated with Marine Environment Protection Authority.

At around 1030 hrs on 06 June 2023, a fire was occurred in scrap iron shop at Akkaraipattu town area which is belongs to 11 SLNG battalion under command to 241 Infantry Bridged. There was a risk of fire spreading nearby houses and shops in the area. With the instruction of the Commander 241 Infantry Bridged Colonel LSDN Pthirathna RSP USP, the troops of 241 Infantry Bridged and the 11 SLNG Battalion has been immediately taken action to prevent huge destruction by spreading fire, with the help of Akkaraipattu police, fire bridged unit, and the local residents.

United Nations Environment programme is annually held on 5 June since 1973, and World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. Some 11 million tones of plastic waste flow annually into oceans and this will may triple by 2040. An awareness and cleaning programme was conducted in line with the idea of the 50th World Environmental Day on reducing pollution by using plastic and polluting in also the Batticaloa town area.

According to the security plan of 24 Infantry Division, 11 Sri Lanka National Guard which is under command to the 241 Infantry Brigade, deployed a permanent road block at Akkareipattu - Ampara main road and the troops who were on duty on 2 June 2023 apprehended a person who had stolen a motorcycle that was parked in Akkarapattu town and had ridden a motorcycle at a high rate of speed without a safety helmet through the road block. Further apprehended person handed over to Akkareipattu Police Station for further investigation.

Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs were handed over to the Muthur police station for further investigations.

Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs were handed over to the Vakarei police station for further investigations.
